    Easily the top 10........

    Larsson, Lubo, Sutton, Hartson, Petrov, Nakamura, Lennon, Lambert & i think both Martin O'Neill and Gordon Strachan deserve to be put in here considering their accomplishments.

    Been a good decade to be a Celtic fan, there are more players that deserve to be in this list but it's not long enough!! :(

    After opening this thread yesterday, I thought Id have a look through the 21 respondants (and thanks to those who have contributed) in addition to my own. It makes for some interesting revelations, not all of which are astounding, but there are a couple of surprises, and indeed, a reflection of how the team has been viewed over the course of the decade.

    1. Henrik is the ONLY player to feature on every member's list.
    2. Only 20 different players were nominted.
    3. 8 players were picked 15 times or more, whilst 3 more were named in excess of 10 times.
    4. Only 4 players selected made their Celtic debut in the post MO'N era, and 2 of these only picked once (JVOH & Sammy).
    5. Only 4 of the current squad were named, again 2 of these with a single nomination (Maloney & Sammy).
    6. Of the current squad, Boruc received the most nods, with 16 appearances, followed by McGeady with 14.
    7. That a number of SPFA POTY winners failed to garner a single vote, including the first year, Viduka (2000) & the current holder, Brown (2009).
    8. Bobo Balde, with 9 nominations was the most popular defender picked.
    9. Craig Bellamy, who spent less than 1/2 season on loan with us, making just 15 appearances, was nominated 5 times, which may indicate that whilst his time at CP was brief, he left such a mark on a number of supporters.
    10. That only 2 players named, Maloney & McGeady, came through the ranks.

    Breakdown thus far:
    Larsson 22, Moravcik 20, Hartson & Sutton 19, Petrov 18, Boruc & Lennon 16, Thompson 15, McGeady & Nakamura 14, Lambert 13, Balde 9, Mjalby 6, Bellamy 5, Agathe & Valgaeren 3, McNamara 2, Maloney, Samaras & JVOH 1.

    NB - There was one vote for Pierre, however he did not feature in the 'naughties'. As for the duds... all in due course... trying to stay positive ahead of the O** F*** game tomorrow, lol

    Will keep tabs to see how this develops...

    BELLAMY??? The guy played for half a season and hardly done enough to merit a place as the 'decades best'. Ok he is a 'star' i suppose but come on. People like Valgaaren and Agathe did much more for Celtic than Bellamy. * Scott McDonald has too. id have him over Bellamy.
