i dont think ev1 thinking he is the answer to our prayers put he could be part of the answer if celtic invest in a quality cb with experience ,i would see him become world class ,not because he is irish, because he doesnt panic can score can pass and start attacks good in the air and has aggresion all the tools, wot he needs is a year or 2 with a quality partner to bring him on.

people whine about us not bringing through our own young guys. then write off o'dea at 20 years old. the guy has shown sparks of talent and when has a centreback ever been finished product at his age?

the expectations thrust upon developing talent is ridiculous thanks to the few wunderkinds that have come through recently. At 20 vidic was on red star belgrade's payroll and playing on loan at a lower team in the serbian league. Terry at that age was on loan at nottingham forest. Ferdinand was also out on loan around that age to build experience.

While O'dea may not be in the league with those guys, my point is that center halves often don't start at their bigger clubs until they mature more. It was a shame he couldn't force himself into the Reading side, but did you expect them to put a 6 month loanee in the heart of their defense just to be screwed come the new year?

pressure on us to winn the title ev year is stopping us putting trust in our youngsters, imo o dea has been in and out of the team at diff times an hasnt let us down he needs games and some1 like a weir to bring the best out of him and we would have a player on our hands, look at mulgrew hes had games been given responsibility, now i would have him bak in our team another player who could become very good.
