simple as this, i think its the managers fault why we arent winning, and use think its the defenders fault... i would say however if it was as simple as just putting players out there and thts all u can do, why dont they just have a selection pannel to pick the players? lol

 

GS inherited MON's defence and when he didn't do well with that defence people said he wasn't as good as MON then when GS bought his defence we had a stable team. mowbray inherited GS's defence, and when he gets his team that he wants and a team that want to play for him i think he will do well

 

anyone can win with gd players and a gd team, only the good managers can win with *

 

I say sell all of our current defence(bar Hinkel and Caddis) and buy a whole new lot.

In theory OUT : Caldwell - 1m. McManus 2m, Loovens 3m, Wilson 500K, Naylor 1p, Fox - 1.5m an D ODea - 1.5 mil
Now surely for 10.0000001 mil, we could buy 4 decent defenders and let our young scottish lads push for a reserve place, am I right?

 

If the attacks were coming from the wings when Andreas and Fox move up, I'd blame the tactical setup. But its been mistakes by the Center backs, attacks from the middle, and today a long cross finding a runner unmarked by Looven that have undone us. These defensive players played better under Strachan which can be seen in how they let up the least goals in the SPL two years ago. Right now they are too slow and poor on the ball for Mowbrays system.

I'd put one or two of them on the outski list for january.

 

Let's have a look at the other options, if were not going to back Mowbray and stick with him whilst he builds a new team. Sack him and replace him with who? Mcghee who has failed at Aberdeen? Coyle who never wanted to leave Burnley or any other Championship level manager? Yes our full backs aren't the best defensively but then again name me a full back who has cost 1.5mil and has been amazing straight away. GC, SMc, and GL simply aren't good enough.

It is nothing to do with motivation, it is just that every single on of our CB's are liabilities.

They werent pish last season or the last only since Mowbray arrived, what has changed ? Why have they got so bad then ?

 

Our defence was woeful when Strachan was here as well, I fail to see your point.

I think Mowbrays football has been far better to watch we create more chances. The last two years of watching strachans team was an absoloute chore. Mowbray deserves the chance to sign his own 2 center backs.

 

All I will say is that WGS got to two CL last 16s with an assortment of limited CDs comprising Mick, Gary, a ruined JFK and a rookie who cant get a game for Reading. There is no question than WGS set up in such a way that we got far better service out of these CBs than Mogga does. Mogga's system is a disaster with the same CBs both at home and in Europe and I think the way he sets up the team must take a chunk of the blame.

if WGS is this great motivator how come he didnt get samaras back at all after injury and horrible form? and when mogga comes in he is in a rich vein of form??
