Strachan to raid in January?

In todays Irish Times there is an article on Strachan and a "Bhoys to Men" section.....headline kinda insulting I thought but the content was interesting...it was a list of players Strachan supposedly wants to take to Middelsborough,

Caldwell,McManus,Loovens,Scott Brown and McDonald are the 5 players talked about.



Taking 3 centre halves would leave us very light at the back would be my first worry. Allthough we need some new faces in our defence anyway I think.

I like Scott Brown and would like to see him stay

In fact Caldwell is the only one of the 5 I've never liked, and would willingly sell to Middelsborough.

Loovens I'm still unsure about.

I wonder what the chances of loosing all 5 to Middelsborough in January are? I would expect one or two to go....but not all 5

 

He can take McManus and Caldwell any day of the week.

Brown and Caldwell could go if we get back what he shelled out for Brown. A £5m double deal would do.

 

I'd like to keep Loovens, i think he is a good player, just needs to form a good partnership with someone.

I'd rather not sell Loovens and Brown and any ways Brown wouldn't go to Boro. 10M for the 5 of them if he wants...

 

can't see middelsborough buying 5 players from us. mabe 1 of the 5 and caldwell on a free.

 

TBH, I'd happily see McManus out the door for £2.5m. Caldwell I quite like but if he hasn't agreed a new deal by mid January and Strahan bid £1-1.5m, I'd sell him. Loovens I'd keep I think he has the potential to be a decent centre half, and we neeed to hold on to him to play with O'Dea or who ever we sign. Brown and McDonald I would rather keep........but money could speak. If we get offered £8m for Broonie, we have to sell. If we get offered £6m plus for Skippy we've got to consider it. I doubt Strahan can afford either Broonie or Skippy.

In all seriousness- i'd take 3 cents for the two numpties and be prepared to pack their cases!

 

Keep Loovens and get top dollar for the rest :bbpd:

However obviously letting 3 CB's go would depend on replacements. I would hapilly see them all out the door though.

 

why would any of our first team regulars with decent time on their contracts want to go to boro theyre * rank and the wee fella is only gonna make them worse i'd rather he took all the * deadwood he signed away first like big killen and flood all the * takin a wage under false pretences the likes of heid and broon skippy too are gonna go premier league only thats fact, this is nonsense

Brown - He can stay see how he looks when he comes back in January keeping in mind he has been carrying his knock all season and at the end of last year.

Loovens - Would keep him, best of the bad bunch plus good for a goal now and then from corneres etc

McDonald - It * me off people saying sell him hes a * goalscorer and that is what we need, hes our own version of Boyd, slow lazy but bangs them in, Him and Sammy upfront looks like the way forward !

 

if he wants caldwell & mcmanus why not give us one of his 2 cb for both as i would take wheater or st ledger over the 2 of them

 

If Strachan came at Celtic with 6-7 million for Brown i would take it now .

McDonald ,i want a CF with electric speed and someone who will run at defenders all day long ,we miss pace up front and i would given the chance of someone else move McDonald on.

Also, can you see Killen and the like moving for less money? Killen's won a watch and they'll have to prise him away from CP unless he's seriously interested in the World Cup. We'll get buttons for the dross.

Don't know what you're sayin about Heid. He thinks he's Premier League, maybe. Championship, at best.

Agree, it's a heap of *. Pray that he comes in and takes away a hatful of them for big money. Oh, wait, it's just a wee dream.

 

Personally I think he will take McManus and Robson (perhaps wilson.) I think Caldwell will go to Birmingham, and we will keep Brown and he will be slotted into the role that Robson is playing just now.

I dont think Robson will be in the team when Brown is back, and I think Ki Sung Yong will get in the team before Robson too.

 

They can all go with my blessing, with the exception of Loovens - he's not had a real fair crack of the whip.

I'd want top dollar for Skippy & Broon though 8-10 million for both.

He can take Naylor, Flood & Mizuno too if he wants for another couple of million.
