Pretty much agree with that. They have a large number of talented but weak charachters like Riordan, Liam Miller and Stokes. Too many players in last chance saloon. Dundee United can keep close and split the OF but they simply must not sell in this window. Constantly selling all their best players is the one reason they do not run the OF close every year.

Every now and then theres a little fight from an Aberdeen/Hibs/Hearts/Motherwell/DUTD and that usually lasts like 1 season there is only one really, even when Hearts were second , there is only one , at the present time

Seeing as trophies are up for grabs and nothing is a foregone conclusion, nobody is Celtic's challengers, as Celtic have not really excelled this season. Celtic need to win the league and/or the cup before we say who our challengers are.

But threats come from Rangers, all the time, no matter how * they are or how good the celtic look, and Hibs will do a Motherwell or summit

Hibs and Dundee Utd will start dropping points soon and it will be the usual 2 horse race.

No matter how much the media try and talk it up, or how much we'd all like to see another team put in a genuine challenge for the title, there is no question that the two main protagonists for the championship will be ourselves and 'them'. Everyone keeps going on about how * us and 'them' have been this season but look at the league table.....we're still 1st and 2nd! If the big 2 find their form even a little bit they will waltz merrily away from Hibs and Dundee Utd as per always. Dundee Utd are skint and Hibs are already saying that they won't be pushing the boat out in January either. It's going to be a two horse race again and neither of those horses will be running from the Easter Road or Tannadice stables.

    Exactly mate.

It will be us and Rangers as usual. If anybody comes within 10pts of 2nd place, then the press will love it. OLD FIRM GETTING WORSE!!! those sort of pish headlines. Any more than a 10 pt gap, and then it will be OLD FIRM FOR EPL!!! Scottish football suffering because of Glasgow dominance. We cant win

rangers as usual; though i would like to see clubs like Hibs and Dundee Unt give us a sustained challenge, its always annoyed me that some celtic fans bemoan the apparent lack of competition and yet moan when a team actually does mount a challenge at our expense; it makes the league more exciting and ultimately more rewarding to win

The others are only close and looking like real contenders because ofthe far too many points Celtic and Rancid have lost already this season. They are not strong enough to last the pace.

I voted rangers for now, but I think this season we will see a longer challenge being put in by both Dundee United and Hibs. If Hibs were to push the boat out (I don't think they will) they could well be the main threat. But I think United have a better squad who work harder and make things difficult for both us and rangers. This could be interesting to see if we get to March and there is still only 3-4 points between the four teams. I still think Celtic will pull away by then but don't rule out a push by the two teams between now and the end of the season.

As messed up as Rangers finances are, their wage budget alone is more than ten million pounds higher than teams like Dundee United & Hibs. And as bad as their team is, they're still significantly better than every other team in the S.P.L. aside from us. That quality will shine through come the end of the season. I think the prospect of any team in the S.P.L. splitting Celtic & Rangers this season is very slim. It's just wishful thinking on the part of the Scottish media. I'm sure that the gap between second and third will be as wide as ever this season.

This is what I think too. Both Dundee United and Hibernian look very menacing this year to me, and both of them have strong squads.

You got to remember that there wil be a Fire Sale at Ibrox in January, which will probably weaken Satan's Eleven even further.

I don't think we can afford to be complacent about the challenge from the East this year.

There will be no fire sale at Ibrox in January. Just because you want it to happen does not mean it will. They might sell one or two players but there will be no mass exodus.

Rangers will be our main rivals. I'd bet my last pound on it.
