Big Sammy is a great player and has the makings to become a celtic legend. Its time the crowd gets behind him and sings his name and watch how hard he will work for you when you support him.

When he's confident and playing well he's the best striker in Scotland. And he should be, too - he has work rate, height, pace, strength, ability with the ball and in the air and a good finish.

He's 23 now, he should be on the way to becoming the best striker in the country. He has the ability, but it's down to him to put it into practise.

    A confident Samaras = a quality striker
Non confident Samaras = a * clown / waste of space

This daft * needs a careful management style. Keep his confidence up and we're on to a winner. I love watching him when his confidence is up, he's everywhere and a * nuisance for any defence.

A question I do have however is this. Does the * have a degree in nursing or some other type of medical qualification?? - an injury or slight knock to anyone on the pitch and he's right over there on the scene!

He's on fire just now - Now let's hope we see him take Bougherra and Weir to the cleaners on 3rd January!

Got time for him, but he needs to be consistent.

Looks to me as if he's got a wee bit more of a battling edge to him, currently. Needs to add that to offset the powder puff approach. And as said above, let the medics/physios/ambulance folk look after the opposition players.

Hoping his present form continues :50:

Glad he's deservedly getting a lot of praise now because when the chips are down across the team it's always him who's first to be criticised - justified or not.

Aye good to see people owning up :icon_mrgreen: In Samaras' case though he has had the games that have merited some hefty criticism but considering he's a confidence player it's a shame he's first to get the abuse.

Tbh i have never really rated samaras but i am delighted with his recent run of form and long may it continue as he is starting to win me over with his performances this season however the part of his game that used to frustrate me so much is still there and that is imo his shooting and headers are too powderpuff i think yesterday was the first time i have seen him score with a shot that actually had a bit of power behind it as he always wants to sidefoot the ball into the net when he should be blasting the ball in with power and its the same with his headers there is never any power behind them, hopefully he will sort this side to his game out then we really will have a player on our hands or am i the only one who thinks this..?

I'll hold my hands up and say that he is proving me wrong as I never rated him...and I'm loving it. Long may it continue.

In saying that, despite his recent form he still has a lot to prove and the game against the Shame on the third will be a big one for him. In fact, Tynecastle will be a big one for him too. If he's going to be great then he needs to score in these tough games.

Remember his goal against Kilmarnock, his run from the halfway line and finish for a superb goal showed what he was capable of, unfortunately he forgot all about this and up till three or four games ago his performances certainly lacked bite and consistancy. So what's happened to him during this period ?

Are we now feeding him raw meat or what, the physical presence he showed against ABERDEEN AND MOTHERWELL recently was not what we saw during the first year of his stay at Celtic Park, so why the change all of a sudden ?

It almost as if Mowbray has told him he won't figure in his future plans unless there is a total change in his attitude, what ever he said to Sammy, it's certainly had the desired effect.

I've been a big fan of Samaras ever since we played last played Barcelona at Paradise. That game we were 2-1 up at half time, the teams came back out, but incredibly Samaras seemed to be the only player with any interest or any belief that we could have gone for glory that night.

He's been well described here, hot & cold, when he's good he's great etc. All only too true. But just now he's oin a great patch and this is entirely what we need right now, forwards with confidence finding the back of the net.

I'm still very biased about McDOnald (being the Aussie Bhoy that I am) but I do think they're two very different forwards that bring different benefits up front. I think if they could work on creating their partnership a bit more (and granted, it's Skippy who's got the work to do there) then we'd be all the better for it.
