After recent talk on here about how we all want Desomnd to invest some money, or any other director for that matter, I decided to post this poll.

So folks vote for what you would want, do you want Desmond in charge as it is, Desmond to sell his shares to someone who might actually be interested in investing some cash, or another solution.

Desmond has stated he will only sell his shares to someone that can show they would do a better job, not someone that will invest at first then get bored and sell up after a few seasons leaving Celtic up * creek having to try and finance players that used to be funded by a sugar daddy.

I'd hate to fall into that situation so I'd be happy if Desmond sold to someone with a sound financial plan for the club that is self sustainable or if he stays as major shareholder.

His investment in Celtic has cost him approximately 86 million, he'd get nowhere near that in return if he sold his shares, so to say he's not put his money where his mouth is is totally incorrect.

i like desmonds philosophy, however i'd like to think he isn't stupid....when the team fails...attendences drop....gate receipts...also drop...

    investment is required

result = you dont need me to spell it out for you!!

    Definitely.

He has presided over the second most successful period in our club's entire history.

Most successful manager since Stein - Gordon Strachan
2nd most successful manager since Stein - Martin O'Neill

Both of them brought in and funded under Desmond's regime.

He has been great for Celtic - long may it continue. :50::shamrock:

How is Gordon Strachan more successful than Martin O'Neill? :43:

O'Neill delivered 7 trophies. Strachan only won 6.

Strachan may have taken us to the last 16 in the CL but O'Neill got just as high a points total in the Groups and took us to our first European Final in over 30 years.

I'm sorry but I just don't see how Strachan can be classed as more successful than Martin O'Neill.

I think he means because Strachan was the first manager since Jock Stein to win 3 in a row for us. Anyway I would like Desmond to stay but invest a little more money, perhaps throw in a 10 million pound buy on 1 player at some point in the future. :50:

I'm surprised at the amount of people who discard this statistic.

we have been short changed for the las 20 years if you ask me, bearing in mind the huns had a fantastic team and they are now paying for it!

our boards penny pinching or their pre- dececessors. have been short changing the fans for years!!

its * criminal..daylight robbery!! guys like bobo on 30g a week ank sittin doin nowt!! unwilling to leave cos hes getting the lira...l then o..f..ing eill gets asked if he wants him and his reply was '' we cant afford him'' made me sick

he put him on the contract...then never played him!!

aye and he was haqppy rejecting an english club as soon as we gave him 1m shares to stay on.

martin thanks for everything but but money talks and you could of been a legend!!!!!!!

People still argueing about who was better out of O'neill or Strachan, for me both of them where a success. If only Mowbray could be added to that list.

Desmond for me is doing all he can in the situation we are in, all the money we make goes back into playing staff, just a pity that some fans can not see it.

Just because he is the main shareholder and a millionaire, does not mean that he has to go into his own money to please fans, if it was me i would be doing the same thing.

We have the right people running our club now not like 20 years ago and we will never be in a situation like across the city.

Untill we get out of the spl it is only going to get worse, peaple need to realise this.

Am happy with Desmond, but think we made a big mistake with the appiontment of Mowbray.

I say leave it alone . I share everyones frustration when we dont win gawd we all do BUT who wants to come in ? Truth is nobody is investing in scottish football and we cannot take a chance of going into debt in case say dermot decides enough is enough and gawd look at hearts so better the devil you know i say

Our board is doing a fantastic job, these men arent lining their pockets with money from the club and it annoys me that people think that a football club would even be run to generate a profit, these people are just stupid and uneducated people. The only reason why a profit is recorded is to pay off debts from previous years. We play in a league which generates diddy money and therefore smart financial, conservative management is a must. The club must be self sufficient, esp in the current financial climate, cause what would happen if our major shareholders pumped superficial money into the club and then proceeded to hit financial meltdown, how would the club survive financially with inflated wages and investments. The reason why the world is in financial strife is because businesses borrowed or spent money in the hope to potentially reach quick and unrealistic growth, lets not gamble on our future.

You will never make money investing in a football club , You only do it to feed your own ego so if he does not want to splash the cash then he should make way for somebody yhat wants to take Celtic to the next level .

celtic are finished as a footballing force whilst dermot desmond remains majority shareholder. lawell was given one job by desmond when he was appointed: get the debt down at whatever cost. the debt's down but the real cost is what we're now seeing on the pitch - arguably the worst celtic team in 50 years. please go away mr d, quick as you can.

The state Scottish football is in at the moment Im happy with the way the club is being run and the investment offered. I'd rather be in the position we are in now than be in the state the huns are because of too much investment.

desmond has already invested in celtic! he was also the one that put his hand in his pocket to help fund lennoxtown too! i would love it if he put his money into the team but why would he really want to do this? he doesnt have to do anything else as we want him to but thats the way its going to be lads im afraud. i hope im wrong but i highly dought this,
