I feel it is a very big ask for the guy.

Has to be remembered that his only first team experience is in league one, and it is a huge leap up from there to running out in front of 50,000 people.

Would be a shame if he was thrown in too soon cos Tony's hand was forced by injuries...

Why buy if he isn't ready to play?

I'd give him a go. There too much science behind it now. Is he physically ready, mentally ready, tactically aware, one for the future? At the end of the day there only one way to learn and thats to play the game, he trains with 1st team and im sure he knows how to tackle, head the ball and clear his lines. If he's struggling theres plenty of experience there to assist.

I would like to revamp 'fritz a grand ol team' as its a bit old and cheesey, needs some fat beats
Im just amazed an 18 yr old is being considered for center back, he must have a lot of potential as that's quite unusual for that position.. anyone know anything about the other guys Curtis Jones and Michael Ordish?

If Thompson is played it will be a fiery baptism that is for sure. You don't
get much tougher than Dundee United away. In saying that I sincerely wish the lad well as I have been advocating that Josh gets his chance now, given the paucity of the play of Caldwell and McManus in recent games.

And if Rangers have no qualms about playing Wilson at seventeen, then we similarly should have no reservations about playing Josh Thompson at eighteen.

i hope he plays, but also could see the positive of having a defender that can put their foot on the ball and play it out of defense if zhi plays

after todays late debacle Thompson should walk into that team ahead of the likes of Caldwell :31:

Clawedwell shouldn't be played given his attitude and contract situation. That's before you even consider just how dogshite awful his form is.

I'd rather play youth than that arrogant fat *.

It was another blunder by Mowbray not playing Josh Thompson instead of Caldwell who was in blunderland again in Dundee.

Why we are continuing to play an arrogant fud like Caldwell, who is in contract dispute with us, and who looks like he couldn't care a * about us
anymore, if he ever did, beggars belief :47:

Caldwell is now running the average of a howler every game which is costing us precious points and sabotaging our league prospects.
