    Aye, without a doubt.

Remember thinking earlier that season "this guy looks as good as any centre-back i've seen coming through in years, we've knocked it off wae this bhoy".

Six years down the line, & * only knows how many operations on the boys leg later, & it's finally all over.

Tragic for Celtic, but more importantly, tragic for John Kennedy.
What a player he could, & should have been.

Good luck for the future Big Man. You deserve it!!!

Sad news, I had a feeling this day was going to come sooner rather than later for him, that was one horror tackle that forced one of the best young defensive talents that scotland had produced in years. Was a real bad tackle and he just never recovered, shame really, He will now no doubt have to go and find himself a proper job as hes that young. I wish him all the best for the future

It's a real shame but not unexpected. he was looking like he was going to be a great defender for us. Like everyone has mentioned, that night at the Camp Nou him and David Marshall were absolutely outstanding. I seem to remember him having an absolutely blinding last ditch tackle on Ronaldinho who at the time was the worlds best player.

Does anyone have a link to a video of the challenge that killed his career, it has been a long time since I've seen it and can't remember the full extent of how bad it actually was.

Shame, but he had a great time at Celtic - all the best support & I bet really nice wages for beng on the injury table 90% of the time, so he can't really complain.

Hopefully he may try coaching, I think something similar happed to Davie Moyes & it didn't ruin his life did it?

Good luck in whatever you do John.

Yup hairytoes, we also put him onto the worlds leading knee surgeon who's dealt with top top stars like Van Nistlerooy and Owen (iirc). All the best to him, an absolute shame.

There is no video on youtube of the tackle alone, but it's in a compilation full of the worst tackles ever.

lets not forget, John made his debut 9and a half years ago, amazing. I really watched out for him after that and was glad to see him break through after the Seville season. Noone can ever take the night in Barca away from him and THAT tackle on Ronaldinho.

Im really sorry that it couldnt be fixed, I was at the game that night. Im really sorry for John but im also really happy that he got to play in Big games and to even score for the hoops.

    All the best JK

gutted for him. Probably the best natural CB we had in the last 7 years. The guy who did it should have been sued at the time.

Really sad considering he is still such a young guy for a footballer. Pity for the big Bhoy. That * Ganea will get it back bad someday though. What goes around comes around.
