although it was a small minority singing that is disgusting,i personally hate the british army and all it stands for but that will be highlighted in the press now and it'll deflect attention away from the knuckle draggers' actions during the week

Can you just expand on that a little mate?

On the TV, it sounded like it was pretty quiet. I ws proud of the fans tbh.

But the link in the above post alludes to the scenario that there was people singing in the stadium (no amount of people outside the stadium would make that noise as they're too far away from the mics etc.)

Also, if there WAS that amount of noise INSIDE the stadium, I'm sure more fans (when the cameras panned over them) would have been looking over to see the fracas. The fans reaction looked like there wasn't a lot of noise inside the stadium.

Furthermore, if it WAS people singing outside the stadium, then that's fine in my book. Remember: the minutes silence was purely for people attending the match ie inside the stadium. It wasn't a national minutes silence, so if anyone wanted to sing, dance or play the maracas whilst they were outside, then I don't see an issue.

Anyway mate, could you just expand on what you said a little? :shamrock:

Well I was in the main stand - Falkirk end - and this is my recollection of the events, minute silence began, then you could hear Celtic fans singing while walking up to the tempoary stand - where the filming equipment is. It wasn't loud but you could clearly make it out and I would just guess that it sounds louder in that video because it was close to the microphones.

About 10-20s in a Falkirk fan shouted due to the singing, "Why don't you * off home" which was mixed with Shhs and boos. You could clearly hear the Celtic chanting until the end and once it was over there were boos from the Falkirk stand directed at those standing outside.

first of all i wasn't at the game to be sure if it was in the ground, we'll need more from the game to clarify it. i'd be against it if they were as i'd always keep quiet during a minute's silence, only i'd sit down if i was against what the silence stood for.

the whole thing reeks of hyprocracy. fans are banned from singing political songs of war at game, of which i agree, but then are forced into watching their team wear a symbol of political war.

for the second time in my whole life i just couldn't cheer one celtic goal as i was so angry at watching my team wear that political symbol. that's certainly not to say i didn't want us to win, but that my anger had got the better of me.

personally, i am sick and tired of hyprotical * having a go at celtic fans for their views on politics. the media and our rivals will put more shame on us than the * that ripped up seats and fought with stewards.

[That clip is shocking. The people who did the singing are the lowest of the low. If there was any way of identifying them they should be banned for life for utter contempt, incitement though provocation, disturbing the peace and bringing the club into disrepute.

Shame on you. They have no right to protest on the day where we pay respects to the millions of British that have died it's a disgrace.

its just a * poppy mate; how can people get so wound up by it? political symbol or not at the end of the day its about showing a bit of respect, empathy and compassion to all those who waded through blood, guts, * and * knows what else because of the politcal arseholes

now im no fan of the british army but come on, are you trying to say you cant sympathize with british soilders who died in WWII? cant show them even a minute of respect they didnt get from their masters? they are not all Protestant, * hating oppressors of Ireland! yes, some are and yes atrocities were commited but if the Celtic fans who disrupted the silence are as Irish and Catholic as they profress to be have they never heard the phrase "Love thy enemy?"; now i personally think religions a load of * but its usually those who disrupt the silence that usually claim to be irish catholic and proud; pure hypocrisy

    Cheers for that.

Its clear to me that Celtic fans who were singing were outside the stadium. Nothing wrong with that as the minutes siolence was observed inside the stadium.

People who say Sky drowned out the sound. Seriously? You could still hear one or two lone voices talking/odd shout during the silence which you always get. Technology doesn't exist where you can choose to lower the volume of slective people in a crowd on the fly. Rubbish. And why would sky not want to show something controversial? To help Celtic out? They've got no vested interest in making sure negative footage doesnt get shown.

As before, the crowd showed no reaction of thre being any major disturbance at all. Nobody can tell me that, if you were there and heard such a major event being desecrated (can't think of a better word just now, sorry that you would'nt have at least looked at it out of curiousity.

So I say: Well done to the Celtic fans. Before I have a go at them, someone will need to prove to me uneqivocally that a large section of Celtic fans sung inside the stadium during the game.

Ricardinho was at the game and didn't hear/see it.

I watched it on TV and didn't see/hear it.

We have a you tube video posted by a hun as evidence against us.

I know what I believe. I'lll have no trouble retracting this if I'm proved wrong. :shamrock:

And yet there was many including myself who were proud that 'my team' wore that political symbol.
