Say what you really think of him :56:

His problem is that he's not as good as he thinks, and because he thinks he's better than he is he doesn't put in the effort.

We're seriously lacking the striker department :54:

I think he misses Big Jan.

Out of our 4 strikers last season. Jan and Skippy played well together.

Maloney and Samaras played well together.

But when it came to mixing and matching them, they were brutal. I think he needs a big target man to knock the ball down, so can be a pest in the boz again

not really a fan of mcdonald.

typical celtic blowing 2 amazing chances infront of goal. the funny thing is, i dont think any person in our team could of scored them.. its just how celtic are. Same thing can be said with the scotland squad. All these wee under-dog european teams play better football than us, and 9 times out of 10 bury those chances, same with all the unknown under-dog countries.

ive actually got not idea why, i dont think there is any known answer, but i feel whenever a player comes to celtic, its as if they get the impression "ive made it. ive reached the top in football". they play in europe each season, they win trophies year in year out ( debatable, but theres usually at least 1 trophy up for grabs ), they play in a huge 60k capacity stadium, and get wages that alot of us probably just about make in a year, and for some reason, they must take all that into consideration and just step down a level, if anyone can see what im saying? who was the last player we brought in that their performance equaled, or has been better than their previous club/clubs ? it seems to be a trend i find.

The general thoughts are about the same as I thought.

Some posts saying he is only an average SPL player are not giving him credit. He has scored at the highest level, is an international (was) and generated interest from EPL clubs. Not the case for most SPL strikers.

I think that TM must find the answer to the question and get him back to the level we know he can reach. If not I think his days may be numbered at Celtic.

Cmon Skippy get the finger oot.

Ive stuck up for him a lot and like him as a player but he was rank rotten last night.

Give him a chance to get his form back guys he'll come good, think of some of the goals he's scored for us in big games against the huns and in Europe?

Does anyone else notice that when he stops moaning it seems to be when he's playing *, as if he knows?

    Yes you are.

I thought Fortune was gash as well. His touch was pish and he basically did * all. But the trapping of a ball from Skippy is hilarious now. The worst one saw him back nearly to our 18 yard line. He is playing right now like a fat useless fud and it is only him who can change it.

I predicted he would do * all and get subbed along with Robson and i was right.

Skippy might well be sold in January, but no one wants a goalscorer who canny score and to trap a baw needs the same space normally only afforded in Game Reserves in Africa, so, and this is a stab in the dark, I dont think they will be stampeding toward the East End any time soon...or even later.

Her will go for £1m tops...if that.

I think because he had a great first season he took his eye off the ball so to speak. Also his nose has been put out o joint with the arrival of Fortune. Noticed again last night that when celtic made the double substitution he shook naylors hand when he was coming off but seemed to ignore Fortune,

Interesting topic in my opinion he is our best striker , While i dont think he is world class his scoreing record is good and when we get chances i always hope they fall to him by far our best finisher, i no alot of our fans dont like him but we all have our opinions, And personally i would love to see the back of Samaras terrible player rotten touch cant finish and finds it hard to just stay on his feet USELESS:bbpd:

    3 Reasons he is *:

1/ He is not as good as he thinks he is. Problem is many of his fans are realising this too,.

2/ Not a team player. The team doesn't seem to like him either. All he cares about is his own success not Celtic's.

3/ He has put on too much weight. Have no idea why, but he looks like this on the pitch: Click here.

This may sound stupid but sell him, he is lazy, more worried about having a moan than playing well and not as good as he thinks. i personally would recall Hutchison (yes seriously) and rotate him with sammy to play alongside Fortune in attack, this would allow both Hutchison to mature and Sammy to play without McDonald moaning in his ear like a little * and regain his confidence. The movement of Sammy and Fortune would be frightening for defences and Hutchison has a predators instinct in front of goal like McDonald without the moaning and the weight

If i were TM id put him on double training sessions and get him to lose a few pounds and get him moving again just like WGS did with Boruc towards the end of last season. It worked with Boruc and he has had a brilliant start to this season, give Skippy the time and we could be seeing him back at his best :shamrock: HAIL HAIL :shamrock:

Skippy can be a good striker but i'm unsure if it's a loving arm around him that he needs and to be giving full matches every week or would it be better to give him a spell on the bench to make him realise he has to work harder and show that he deserves the number 7?
I'd like to see Sheridan come back. Did well when asked last season.

    Hail, hail.:shamrock:
