How about erecting a statue beside brother walfrid as a tribute to the best player Scotland has ever seen.

Jinky, Gone to a better place!!!

    Very sad news indeed.

He was actually a friend of my family, and my uncle used to go out with him, then latterly visit him in his house, which had been converted due to his illness.

He was a great player, and a really nice guy, but he was a shadow of his former self due to the motor neuron disease. His son got married recently, and at least he got to live tosee that.

For anyone who didn't know who he was - George Bets comparisons are right. He played like him and had a similar laissez-faire attitude. He also liked a drink, but never courted publicity like Best.

When I was very young he gave me a Celtic centenary book with a personal message inside for my Christmas - one of my very few prized possessions [IMG]
