I have decided not to enter the ground on Sunday until after the minute's silence as rememberance sunday and the poppy's also "remember" those who have fought in illegal wars, such as in Iraq and Ireland. Furthermore, a good point as made in a Green Brigade statement today, Celtic recently donated £10,000 to War Child - which is a charity which as the name suggests, helps children of war. This could be seen as double standards by Celtic as they have decided to back a country who enters illegal wars but also back a charity which deals with the kind of these kind of wars

ah come on now....calling thse that walked out (I wasn't at the game so its not a case of me getting offended by the way), plastic provos is degrading and insulting. why anyway would feel the need to bring the provisionals name in is beyond me. had the post said "remember last year when x amount of people walked out" then i would have no issues...

Your just a bigot, i don't think you should be supporting any football team.
You should probably think about joining a terrorist organization, thats if your not already in one. It is people like you that make the rest of us cringe.

Why doesnt everyone join in a Hail Mary during the minutes silence, praying for peace?

Lets see the meeja pick the bones out of that one.

Millions died during the first world, some british soldiers were 13 and 14 years of age fighting in the trenches. 250,000 brits died during the second world war fighting * fascism across Europe, anybody that disrupts the minutes silence on sunday will be sullying and disrespecting them. :31:

Totally agree, if you don't want to wear a poppy then I have no issue with that, however, no-one should disrupt the minutes silence as to do so would be a huge disservice to the many thousands of people who gave up their lives so that people of today have the rights that many take for granted.

No-one can force you what to remember, so use the minutes silence to remember all of the fallen, a minute of our life is the least we can give to respect the sacrifice they made for us.

there has been no mention of disrupting any minutes silence the topic at hand is the wearing of the poppy at sundays game.... the poppy does yes symbolise the soldiers who faught against the * regime, but it also glorifies the 'soldier's' who terroized and still to this day terroize nations. Celtic Park is no place to remember these soldiers, there will be many commemorations throughout Biritian in Leigon halls and so forth that are a much more apt place..... Many of those in the stands on Sunday will have members of family who have been cruelly murdered at the hands of British forces, why commemorate them??

firstly to address the aforementioned point of celtic being a socialist club then we probably have more reason to join the silence as it marks the victory over the fascists who sit on the opposite side of the political spectrum furthermore celtic were today denied in their request to hold a minutes applause rather than a minutes silence which i feel would be more suitable as it is less obvious for those who do not wish to partake in the gesture in an applause where in a silence it is more noticeable if people are shouting/talking which is then more easily frowned upon

I find that a very offensive remark. If that is not flaming then nothing is! I'm just stating my opinion, and I dont think Poppy's have any place at a Celtic match!

I take it you are referring to *'s. O.K fair point but what about the illegal wars in afgan, Iraq and Ireland? The poppy supports all british soldiers who died in all wars. The proceed's also go supporting the illiegal wars they are involved in.

Not all soldiers believe it was worthwhile in Ireland.

I am sure there are Catholic people in that army.

It's different people, a different government, a different era with different beliefs. I am a neutral because i am not Irish, but i empathise with their people, their public who have had * just like my family in Scotland. But at the end of the day i hate to see anyone fighting over ridiculous ideology, like that of the troubles. It wasn't worth it, i think they made a big mistake going there. But i am not Irish.

well im really worried about sunday tbh! i do not want fans booing this 1 min silence for the men who gave their lives in the 2 wars. all eyes are on us and i have got huns at work giving me the 3rd degree about embaressing the silence with the disrespect by booing it! they say we will not do it and the cannot wait until this happens so papers, news etc will pick up on it.

iv been even called * scum these past couple of day for this also! but the funny thing is im 100% behind a one minute silence. something is wrong far wrong if no matter what the hatred you have for something that you will not even show respect for 1 minute. i am scared and very worried about this tbh. i dont want anybody to boo this on sunday PLEASE LADS! i dont think i could handle all the bad * that the football club will get if it does happen?

please lads lets show the world what celtic fans are really about ! show the respect on sunday and we will get this respect back from everyone( maybe some of the huns lol) no seriously? please ok:50:

Absoloutley mate. I think people, whether they feel respectful or not, owe it to themselves to preserve the rep of the club and maybe in the process consider how pointless omse wars have been.

What gets me though is that people who i talk with, about Celtic mention these indients and others along that line- like songs etc.. A tell them to GTF because incidents, songs are all part of the Irish background of the club, they don't get that so they pick up on these incidents that appear offensive to them (brits) when actually they do it themselves but its ok for them isnt as they are dominant group of people ( church of e and church of s)
