    So....Landry N'Guemo.

I just can't understand some of the doubters on here regarding him. Sure, we've seen misplaced passes from him (on an extremely small minority of times) but this seems to be written in stone and offered as a reason by his detractors as to his inability to play for our beloved team.

    Couldn't be more wrong imo.

Landry has a real consistent tempo to his game. Likes a forward pass, harries the opposition, decent pace, flies into tackles and generally does everything you would want from a CM.

He wins 50/50's about 95% of the time (a head scratcher for any mathematicians out there) and provides a good conduit to linking up the forwards from the defence.

Ok, his shooting is absolutely rotten, but this guy brings to the team EXACTLY what we have been missing and what so many other promised but failed spectaularly (yes I'm looking at you Mr Brown and Mr Donati.)

You can pick anyone else from the team who should be playing alongside him (I think Robson or Crosas could be the perfect foil), but he would be a stick on in my midfield every single game.

Despite Celtic over the last few years siging exactly 435 midfielders, they have mostly been a massive let-down. I have high hopes and high regard for Mr N'guemo.

Could he be the missing piece in our MF jigsaw? :shamrock:

    I agree,

although if he could add goals to his game he could be brilliant.

His problem is he alternates between rank with loads of bad passing in half the games to excellent in half of games. I suppose you have to assume that the good games show what he can do but you could also argue that recently his good games were against wee teams and his bad against bigger ones. Jury is still out because of that IMO but I am optimistic about him. As regards comparisons, he offers very little in an attacking sense and is basically an out and out sitting MF who can do little else so comparisons with Brown etc are not really logical. He is only really directly comparable with pllayers who have gone like Lenny and Hartley.

On the contrary, as Brown spends most of his time hiding in the centre circle for 90 mins, offering very little in an attacking sense and who can do little else, I think the comparison is about right.

If Brown were the free spirited, box to box, attacking midfielder who could get behind the strikers and score a few goals that we were all promised when we payed an exorbitant amount of moolah for him, I could see your point even better.

It seems at one point we rotated every ther CM to see if he could play with Brown. Lately it seems we are trying to see who can fit in with Landry. As before Robson or Crosas would be the ONLY suitable candidates for me. :shamrock:

I agree with. N'Guemo played an especially great game today. He is a real talent.

I don't understand the doubters too because since his arrival he has, on the whole, been a real anchor in the middle of the park. N'guemo is probably one of few i could instantly say I would put in my team at the moment.

Yeah not to far off the truth here.

I think the main solution for TM i(in my simplistic mind) is to say, look, you MUST play a simple or even a backwards pass everytime. Don't even think about creating anything. Under no circumstances should you shoot. Watch a few DVD's of Neil Lennon and Paul Lambert.

He frees the other midfielders to go score goals, so he doesnt need to. Makelele scored once in a blue moon but was immense for chelsea in the 2 years they won the league.

Oh I missed this post - I'd like to say EXACTLY!

Either we've found out Brown is actually a sitting DM or Tony has been asking him to play as a DM. For whatever reason he's been taking up this role (Because he sure as * hasn't been attacking or creating), Landry out-trumps him in almost every department.

So it begs the question - what is the need in the SPL for 2 defensive midfielders? I think we've been creating more and more without Brown and furthermore Crosas has been quietly ticking things over.. Over time the Landry/Crosas combo could prove to be hugely effective.

I think he has been a definite success; he loves a tackle, is constantly busy and is technically sound.

I'd sign him up in January.

Makelele also gave the ball away very, very rarely N'Guemo doesn't.

He looks a lot better with a natural playmaker next to him (Donati & Crosas) than with Scott Brown.

That being said Brown is a better player I think. N'Guemos firsat five games or so he was solid, he has been rocky since.

Jurys still out for me, been too inconsistent tbh.

I reckon hes a good player but he needs to perform in every game not just when he can be bothered.

N'Guemo will go on and become a Celtic legend if signed on a permanent contract.

im really worried we'll lose him in the summer.
Him and Crosas in the middle look really calm and free our wingers so well, When Ki Sung-Yung arrives in jan he can be our attacking pressure in the middle if we ever need to play 4-5-1 and we got enough cover, all signs point towards selling brown and getting a striker or a CB instead.

:56::56::56: I remember people sayi ng that about Sno...where you one of them? go on admit it, you thought Sno was a player.
n'Guemo is too inconsistent, his passing is poor, he will never be a Celtic Legend. Never. I bet his next game he has a nightmare and is pulled, thats the pattern with the guy, looks good one game, pish the next.
