The guy really has grown on me more and more over time.

Without doubt our most consistent performer

Hinkel is bar far the best RB at the club, both in terms of attacking and defending imo, I think he's better at defending than both Caddis and Wilson, his positioning is usually sound (one or two errors but then everyone makes errors) but overall I don't think his defending is as bad as some.

He is better going forward than defending, but his defending is OK.

He was our best performer against Hearts midweek.

Yip cant disagree with anyones view on Hinkel ,he does have a great engine on him and he has settled well and he had it rough at times of the fans but he has shown he is a player.

All 3 of Falkirk's goals came down Hinkel's side yesterday and he was definitely out of position for at least one of them. Noted............

Its fair enough saying that but there was no help from midfield as in back-up play from anyone yesterday ,i find it hard to point the finger at individuals when the whole team are not at the races .

That is true. Hinkel's defensive fralities are still there, Caldwell dozen't help down that side either given away penalties, and he was posted AWOL for the third. So in effect we have an alarming weakness down our right side radiating from Caldwell to Hinkel.

    Fair comment.

I'm not saying it was solely Hinkel's fault that we lost 3 goals yesterday I'm just pointing it out. I've been slagged on here for suggesting he's not that clever defensively so thought I'd throw it out there.

Yep, Caldwell's 'tackle' that gave away the penalty was lazy and looked amateurish.

I honestly think Caldwell dozen't give two * now. He knows he is for the offski now in January and is quite prepared to play hard ball with us and not try a leg.

If I was manager I would freeze him out to January and then punt him to the first interested party. Until then I would either play Zheng, Thomson or Robson alongside Loovens.

People say Thomson is too young at eighteen, well Danny Wilson is not doing too bad playing alongside David Weir at only seventeen. Since when did we have age discrimination at Paradise ?

I would imagine its the complete opposite for Caldwell, this will be his last big contract, whether its at Celtic or elsewhere is irrelevant. He'll be putting in performances so he'll have the strongest hand for contract negotiations come January.

If he's playing *, who's going to offer him a bumper deal. Only a team getting relegated and then punt him 2 years into it. He's not that much of an idiot

Ans he's also been thrown in PURELY because Rangers financial trouble and the fact that they cannot fund a footballer with a better pedigree.

As it stands, it's worked out for them for a game or two, which by NO means means that he'll be a continued success a la John Fleck.

If Thomson is good enough, he'll play. If he's not, he won't.

Unless maybe I've missed something and TM said he's not old enough? :shamrock:

Jock Stein's mantra was always ' If they are good enough they are old enough '.

Perhaps Mowbray should take a leaf out of the great man's books, and start playing some fresh blood in the team, and get the dross out. Not all at once obviously but selectively, and Thomson would be a good one to start with I feel.

Maybe the mantra is being used and the reserves/youths arent good enough

Maybe or maybe there is too much at stake to play them this year.

Yeah, and perhap's if yer Auntie had balls she'd be your uncle?

Point being mate, Mowbray has said before he'll pick his best eleven. It Thompson not in it, he's not good enough in his opinion.

And unfortunately, till you get your wish and he get's binned, that's the way it'll stay until Thmoson is worthy of a place in the team.

Sorry to burst your bubble :shamrock:
