Was just thinking of the type of players we might be looking at for Januray & I thought of a couple closer to home, that could easy walk into our side & they are Merouane Zemmama from Hibs who is a Moroccan Internationalist, who has played under Mowbray before, & right now is proberly the best attacking midfielder in the SPL, would be the drive in the middle that we need, cos hes really an exciting player to watch. Another player from the SPL we should buy should be Morgaro Gomis from Dundee United, Senegalese Internationalist, great sitting Midfielder, who is very comfortable on the ball & can pass the ball, I know we have Landry N'Guemo, but still think we should go for him.

I dont know how much Zemmama & Gomis would be, no more than £3million anyway & you would have both of them, maybe give Dundee United Willo Flood as part exchange, & with Ki-Sung Yong coming in aswel, our Midfield would have a well deserved lift, & all 3 are International players, so you know they have experience & are good quality players..

Then maybe can loan in a striker, rather than bursting the bank on a top striker try & find a player who is of good quality but maybe not playing as regular as he may want to play & if it works out well sign them permanently maybe someone like Benjani from Man City or Diomansy Kamara from Fulham, who I think is a good striker & has worked under Mowbray before, you know something like that..

& if Caldwell does leave in Jan then a good Centre half to come in, I liked the look of that Icelandic Centre Back Solvi Ottesen we were linked with in the Summer, think he would be good..

Anyway we can all argue & throw our opinions in about what Strikers & Defenders we want in January but my real point is about Gomis & Zemmama do you think Celtic should go for them? Cos I think Gomis would walk into the side no problem & Zemmama would be in & out yes, but is alot better than some of the midfielders we have the now..

    My January Ins & Outs:

    Ins:
Solvi Ottesen from SonderjyskE for £1.5Million

Morgaro Gomis from Dundee United for £800k (Plus Willo Flood)
Merouane Zemmama from Hibernian for £1Million to £1.5Million
Ki Sung Young from from FC Seuol for £2.1Million

Diomansy Kamara from Fulham or Benjani from Man City on a 6 Month Loan Deal.

& Darren O'Dea returning from Loan

    Outs:
    Lee Naylor proberly about £400k
Gary Caldwell Proberly about £1.5Million (Cos his contract's nearly up)
Willo Flood (Could swop as part exchange plus cash for Gomis)
    Chris Killen proberly about £500k
    Cillian Sheridan proberly about £500k

Mark Brown permanent to Kilmarnock (Extend Loan Deal & sign for Free at the end of the Season)
Simon Ferry & Ben Hutchinson both signed permanetly by Swindon for proberly about £600-700k

Some might not agree, but there is some quality coming in & basically the players we dont need anymore leaving & we aren't bursting the bank either & then in the Summer is when we can have a proper clear out & make some big signings, Cos January isnt really the best time to do big deals, so I think find the quality quick get them in & hopefully get the title back..

Neither Zemmama or Gomis are any better than what we already have.

We will never get £1.5 million for DunderHeid when he only has 6 months left on his contract.

The last thing we need is another midfielder. We're sorted in the middle. Don't forget we've got that Korean lad coming in january.

    I don't think we'd get £1.5m for Caldwell.

We need a goal scorere and i'd be happy if that was the only signing we made. I think if we start putting the ball away at one end it will help the confidence of the whole team especially the defenders.

I would bring O'Dea back asap.

An intersting point about those 2 although I would have to say I think Driver would be a better bet than Zemamma, but I think your right about Gomis.

Not so sure about Zemmama. I liked him at first but he seems inconsistent. I like Gomis, be interesting to see how he did with us.

I think we have to sell Brown, for whatever we can get.

zemmama would be a squad player, trouble is he plays on the wings and we're sorted in tht position, with atleast 5 in the first team, mcgeady maloney mccourt mcginn mizuno, as for gomis i dissagree, have to say i feel robson brown n'gumeo are all better than him

I would not sign any player from a scottish team as it would only weaken the squad

    We need two CB's
2 creative technically gifted midfielder, maybe the Korean guy? An other
    A clinical striker.
    O Dea back

For me thats five players into the team.

out: and what i think they are worth

    Calamity Caldwell, circa £600k
    McManus £600k
    Naylor £500k
    Killen £250k
Ngeumo dont take up option, too inonsistent.
    Sheridan £100k
    Brown/Goalie £15
    Skippy £1m
    Loovens £1.5m

Thats 7 of the first team pool away, wouldnt miss any of them.

as for the young players out on loan? If you cannot get into that team you will never make it.

£1.5 for Caldwell going out? No chance.

We only got in £1m for Maloney, who was the reigning 'Player of the Year' & 'Young Player of the Year' when he departed with just 6 months left on his contract, not to mention a much better player than Heid.

Thing is, Mowbray has to work in the real world, not the realm of video games.

Gomis is a scintillating player. An absolute dynamo of a midfielder
who always dictates the midfield when he plays against us. I think he would be brilliant with us.

    Just can't get enough!
I say we bring in youth players to mix with the experience, but only if the youth is good enough!
