We're top of the league despite not firing on all cylinders, whats the problem?

We had the most ridiculously difficult draw in the CL and got a tough draw in the Europa league as well, we get a result in Hamburg we are right back in the mix.

    Remember WGS's frist european 'campaign'?

    Give the guy time.

I dont think that there is much chance of him leaving TBH. He needs time to build his side and I think that the hierarchy are prepared to give him that time....

Mogga will stroll the league this season with a * poor team. I think over the next 2 years we will see a big improvement, and we will be competing in europe again.

We have a thread and a poll like this because it was in a national newspaper and therefor is a talking point and this being a forum we're talking about it.

I don't think he'll walk away either. He doesn't appear to me to be a quitter and if we find some form as a team I think he'll be alright for us. Just that it has taken him a bit too long to get a settled and winning team for me to get too excited about him yet.

yes unless a manager has started his first few months disasterously bad then they always imo deserve a season long chance atleast

Judgement reserved, just in case. For now he has my backing, but if we screw up again and lose the title to this woeful Huns team, I think he should leave.

Yes and that is exactly my point. The whole thing is ridiculous.

    I wasn't having a go at you personally. :50:

Yes, I think he'll still be here at the end of the season, although we've not been playing well recently and had a few dodgy results we're still top of the league, but the Scottish "press" have to sensationalise some story and the Mowbray not to the last the season is as good as any to get the papers sold.

It would be foolish for Celtic to sack the manager during the season unless results become totally woeful, especially after being out a couple of million to get him and the fact that all of his signings appear to be decent additions to the team so far.

He is safe unless Rangers hit form. If Rangers had been playing like they did for most of our 3 in a row/their UEFA final season, we could have been miles behind already. Luckily they are poor this season and we have been like a pair of punch drunk boxers so even with a bad run we are still on top. I think he would only be sacked if Rangers got 5 or 6 points ahead and we were still playing this rubbish. I think as soon as we look like not winning the league in a situation where it would be the 2nd season in a row then every Celtic manager is in danger of sacking.

    No worries, I misunderstood. :50:
The Hunday Mail is a heap of * anyway.
Speculating to sell papers. Strachan, O'Neill... they were all victims of Mail speculation during their time at Celtic.

Think he definitely will but remember he was only signed on a 1 year contract so wether that is renewed or not is a different story, we will just have to see come June.

I picked Judgement Reserved but meant to pick no..........And the reason i was going to pick no is that i think he will walk in January when he realises the board wont give him the money he wants to spend.

This is the only way he would leave this year. wont happen though, Mogga must have had a word with the board and told them what everyone knew. The Pool is full of * and he needs to get rid and replace with players who can run, pass, and shoot.

I like the way you just dismiss my optimism!

I disagree I think that we are better than them.

Start at the back, Boruc vs McGregor. Moving on!

In the back four of each, Hinkel, McManus, Big head and Fox are a slight bit better than Rangers back four, and their european record, before this season, doesn't see them beating Milan, Man Utd etc (that is with exception to new signing Fox)

In midfield, we have an abundance of talent. McGeady, Maloney, Brown, N'Guemo, McCourt, McGinn. You mistake lack of form for lack of talent. Remember, despite their financial troubles, Rangers have a very settled set-up, Celtic are in the third month of new management, so everything is up in the air.

And I'd have McDonald before Boyd in my team everyday of the week..... but I'd swap him for Samaras :celt_2:
