Honestly....no. I have great pride in the way Celtic is run, but at the same time I kinda agree with a once wise man by the name of Al Davis. He is the owner of the Oakland Raiders who coined the term " Just Win Baby!!!" .

As long as Celtic is winning, I don't believe most people give a * about finance or debt. We are not performing up to our weight in the SPL or Europe at the moment and the kneejerk reaction is....BUY MORE PLAYERS....FIRE THE MANAGER. It most likely isnt as simply as that.

In all honesty, I think we have the players right now to win the league, so half of me says, "no do not go into debt".

But the other half says "Just win baby"

    Conflicted.

naka may hav been a passenger in some blood an guts games but for the most he was a diamond in amongst the rough, he was our 1 true bit of quality and very rarely did he ever lose possesion through a misplaced pass .

Should never go into debt AGAIN. Don't think we would be able to find another Fergus McCann to bail us out.

Remember what happened the last time one of the old firm spent HUGE. FLO for 12 million, then they went down the pan and bought guys like......Vanoli, Khizanishvili, Emerson, Ostenstadt, Franny Jeffers, Maniero, Capucho.

I know our current squad isn't great, but its better than the * that i've just mentioned...and if we went into debt, and it went * up, we would end up like they did.

We shouldn't be spending what we haven't got

    Should celtic go into debt.

Well i would say yes we can go into managable debt for new players as celtic have 2 guys worth £2.75b & £1.3 Billion.
They could in theory give celtic about £10 / £20 million every 2 years and this would still not effect their personal wealth.
The intrest alone on all those billions would be more than that every 2 years.
Or if the Billionaires put aside say £10/ £15 m in a transfere account the intrest on that would build.
But its there money and you cant force them to do it, but if it was me i would gladly help out, if you think of the money normal punters put into the club we probably put a higher % of our wages into celtic than any of the board members.:87:

NO CHANCE, WEE SHOULD NOT GO BACK IN DEBT, RECESSION???????
Anyone who thinks it a good idea to go into dept is a fool.
Do not want to go back into the kelly era. I was only a kid but those where * times
also I no we have billionaires, but they are like the monty burns of billionaire so you aren't going to see alot of money passing threw them, not like the saudi's in the prem.
also dont forget that club down south go into debt because they no that they get major funding ie. sky.
Burnley got about 45mil getting into the prem so other teams that are constant in the prem tottenham, everton they have that option of debt if they want.
Rangers if im sure are only 20 mil in debt and we are just above even so how much would we need to spend to make the league title our 10,20,30mil????????

I agree we need players, but we have to do it acutley
check the player we dont need then bry some in and sadly maybe some of our big players might need to go to relieve us with some big buck, but i leave that to mowbrary to deal, after all he is the boss

I think some people seem to be forgetting that; a) many of our revenue streams are shrinking and b) we have a large squad which will have a significant wagebill to service.

If there were no changes to the players pool I wouldn't be surprised if we made a loss this financial year.

IMO, we need to trim the fat from our squad and potentially sell a few underperforming first team players, assess the resulting incoming transfer fees and reduction in outgoing wages in order to invest in incoming transfers.

Does nobody realise we can't go into debt to sign anyone? the banks aren't going to loan money to SPL clubs because it will never get paid back, thats why they want all their money back from Rangers. SPL clubs don't make high enough profits. Banks are wanting money back from football clubs nowadays not handing it out, they have realised football clubs have billions owed to them that will likely never be fully paid back.
