Wilson V Hinkel

Andreas Hinkel is one of the best players at the club in my opinion.

A proper modern fullback who can bomb forward and provide quality crosses and notch up assists.
He goes past the opposition wingers which allow the guys like McGeady cutting inside . Dragging the opposition full backs wide can buy McGeady space and time to cut inside.

People need to realise football is not just on the ball , off the ball movement is just as important.

Okay he isnt the best defensively but still more than good enough and gets himself in the right covering positions (as proved clearing the ball off the line against hearts etc.)

Wilson is just average . An all round average player who provides good enough cover.

Hinkel is probably, not exactly sure but it would be a safe bet, our player with most assists and probably leads assists for the league. Hhis work defensively is also stong which is why i dont really understand the arguement that "he can attack but he cant defend". He is a full back first and foremost and does that job excellently. We are just lucky we have a player who is talented enough to do both very well. Wilson is decent cover as is Caddis though.

This Wilson v Hinkel debate is ludicrous. It really is annoying when people try nwe ways to pick out a scapegoat. In this case, it's Hinkel.

I sometimes wonder how we haven't sol Wilson before, I think him, along with Naylor, should be the first to be shown the door. In my opinion, he's an obstacle for Caddis (although, not his fault) to get more games. He spent a lot of time injured and he's just not good enough to hold a place in the team and I even think he's a poor back-up.

On the other hand, we have Hinkel. Underrated in eyes of our many fans who can't wait to find a new reason to slate someone. People don't realise that Hinkel is vital to this current side and selling him would be suicide for RB position, if happened. Caddis can take him as a role model, man is a really good right-back, but he often gets criticism for unknown reason. 8 assists so far, I am well impressed by that, considering he's a full-back.

These kinds of debates are stupid. Zaluska or Boruc, Mizuno or McGeady and now this... Some people...

 

I like Hinkel, Wilson and Caddis, the right-back position is our strongest. Hinkel is the best though and I think probably our best player of anyone at the club.

Hinkel can defend imo, his positioning is usually spot on, although he has made a few errors - but tell me one player that hasn't made a few errors this season?

We play with attacking full backs so we need him to bomb forward and help in an attacking sense, if that means his defensive duties are sometimes exposed then that's the price we pay for the system we've adopted.

Hinkel is by far the best RB at the club, his assists have been priceless this season and I don't think he's been as poor defensively as some fans try to make out, it appears as though he's just another player the fans like to make a scapegoat off when it's totally undeserved.

His defending is actually really good. Most of his blunders come from a lack of support from the center backs or the wingers playing in front of him.

 

Hinkels the best player in the team.. he had a slow start but he's really came on to a game for any one to say he's * they must be trippin

Speaking only for myself here, I can categorically deny that. I do not do scapegoats.

I call things as I see them and I do not see Andreas Hinkel as a good defender. He has won me over with regard to his attacking play though.

Would you rather have Wilson or Caddis in the team in place of Hinkel? I wouldn't as I think Hinkel is the best RB at the club.

 

I dont have a scapegoat although I do have a pet goat, Roger. As for Hinkle being the best right back at the club, if ma auld maw was over there she'd bhe the second best! what a player! Hard as * nails, sweet left foot anaw!
