A wee birdie has told me that we have a keen interest in right back Craig Thomson of Hearts.

It seems Mhogga & Co were very impressed with Thomson when he played against us at Parkhead this year.

Well, what does that say to Caddis? Does that mean he has no future? If they are going to sign Thomson they should ship Hinkel out to get some cash up!

As much as I like Paul Caddis and I do like him, I don't think he has the necessary height to be a competent right back. I think Caddis is more suited to be a right wing back with his speed and directness.

Craig Thomson, a bit unfortunate with the name :icon_mrgreen: is an extremely good and promising right back IMO, as is also Lee Wallace their LB, though not quite so good as Danny Fox.

hinkel will be on his way i think caddis will be first choice (hopefully) with wilson who is usually injured as second and this boy as 3rd pick

I think Caddis should be given his chance , Thomson does look a good player but give him a season at Hearts and see how he progesses, no point in us signing him and the boy going into the reserves for a couple of seasons we let a good one go in the lad wotherspoon i think his name was hes doing really well at hibs .

I think Hinkel will be on his way as well. But if we sign Craig Thomson and I hope we do as he is a brammer of a right back at only eighteen, then I think Thomson will be No.1 pick at right back

Dont go over the top with this young gun hes just on the seen let Him play at Hearts for at least a season , i remember when robbie neilson first came on the seen the same was said about him he was the next Scotland right back and rangers were going for him and a few teams down south and look at him now, Let the boy play his football at Hearts and let him progress he will not do that in our reserves and that is what will happen.

The problem with that theory mate is if you don't snap the young guns on the rise, then somebody else will snap them up before you.

Look what happened to James McCarthy of Hamilton.

I'm not convinced that Thomson is the answer, I agree that Hinkel should be punted ASAP as he is hopeless when it comes to defending, but Mark Wison did very well before he got injured last season.

I just wished we could find a new Jackie Mc Namara or Danny Mc Grain, now that's what you call class full backs !!! :bbpd:
