Do you think we will have a big clear out in January? Cos under Gordon Strachan, we normally only bought 3 players, & to be fair they usually helped win us the titles in the 3 in a row anyway.. You think we will go a bit mad this time?

For me, I would bring in:

Abdoulaye Faye from Stoke (I know hes not linked, but would be great)
Stephen Appiah Free Agent (Always wanted Celtic to get him)
    Ki Sung Yong (Already agreed)
Robbie Keane (If we have any chance)then that would just top the lot!

Diomansy Kamara on Loan if we cant get Keane, cos he is good on his game..

    Call back from Loan:

Darren O'Dea & Cillian Sheridan (Have a good youngster on the bench for the Under 21 Rule who can actually come on & help change a match)

    Outs:

Mark Brown, Simon Ferry, Mark Millar & Ben Hutchinson can all make there loan moves permanent, no disrespect to them, but they should further there career's at the sides they are at, or any others that may be interested, rather than wasting away in the reserves here.

Willo Flood, Lee Naylor & Chris Killen
Maybe Gary Caldwell? Faye would be a good replacement anyway, big solid player..

    Send out on Loan:

Paul McGowan, Ryan Conroy, Niall McGinn & Mark Wilson..

Im not gonna have a go at any of the players that I have put up for going out, I just think there time at Celtic has proberly came to an end, & a few of them missed out to go in the Summer window..

I wouldn't mind if Caldwell stayed, just think if we have a chance to get a better defender then we should take it, Cos Caldwell hasn't been at his best this season, he might come good, but still if the chance is there why not take it?

Anyway what does everyone else think? Within reason..

TBH I don't understand why you insist on bringing Fae and Appiah?

wilson and naylor gone replaced with one decent full back, maybe that japanese lb naka recomended.
caldwell out we got him on a bosman so good luck, one cb in of a better calibre than mick an loovens, get o'dea back too.
we have about 5 wingers so we could afford to loan mcginn or mizuno out if we got no injuries.
with the young korean comin in he should cover n'guemo for the african nations, but if n'guemo is gonna go back to nancy or elsewhere we'd need another cm.
and finally 2 good forwards, anyone any age any nationality once they score on the regular and stay fit. prob askin way 2 much tho.

It's going to take donkeys ages to do a clear out.

First of all we need buyers and lets face it not many teams want what we have and even if they did they wouldn't want to pay the prices or perhaps wages of some if not most.

Secondly we would need replacements and that'll take several windows.

Yes, but only if the board gives Mowbray the funding to bring in some quality players, I wouldn't get rid of any just yet till we have a suitable replacment.

I think Mowbray has been sufficiently stung by the fans and media into buying at least 1 centre-back in January (or perhaps Summer). This will almost certainly see the end of Caldwell (contract) and arguably 1 of Mick or O'Dea if yet another centre-back is sought.

I doubt anyone will want our dregs,,,it may take more than a few rumour windaes before we see any kinda of Mowbray team. So unless Celtic are willing to buy then dump them into the reserves and eat the costs its gonna be a long season.

I reckon Flood, Naylor, Heid, Crosas and Mizuno will all take a walk, with Caddis/Wilson going out on loan. O'Dea will be recalled. Every player we have out on loan will also make their moves permanent (none are really good enough, anyway, or they'd already have made inroads to the first team).

    This will leave us needing:

    a quality CB
    an out-and-out striker
    a second striker

I don't see us signing anyone to cover for the wing-backs we'll likely lose. Whoever stays out of Caddis/Wilson will be considered back-up for Fox/Hinkel and failing that, O'Dea can move across to LB. We'll still have an abundance of midfielders (although, I reckon some no-mark Prem team will gazump us for the S. Korean) and so nothing will be spent there. We only really have three strikers at present, all of whom aren't the most prolific. I'd be happy if we got someone in, who can regularly put the ball away. I sometimes wonder where ANY of our goals come from these days. The midfield (all 900 of them) rarley weigh in.

A definite requirement is a CB, who can dominate in the air and contribute at offensive corners. Our defence looks ready to * themselves any time attackers are at them. How would Mjallby have dealt with Kenny Miller? Head be re-entering orbit around about.....now. I actually quite like the look of Gary Kenneth at Dundee Utd., or even Diamond of Aberdeen. At least they're realistic targets.

I don't see us making much out of our sales and we'll spend more than we make; the usual carry-on.

While I agree that we need a top-class striker (who doesn't), theres some interesting stats regarding the SPL and our goals:

    Loovens: 1
    Maloney: 3
    McCourt: 1
    McGeady: 3
    McDonald: 3
    Samaras: 1
    Fortune: 2
    Killen: 1

So 8 / 15 goals came from non-strikers :p So they are chipping in. Also highlighted at this early stage is the importance of McGeady and Maloney on the wings who between them have scored as much as the 4 strikers in the SPL.

A notable exclusion is anything from centre-mid!

You have hit the nail squarley on the head!!! We all know there are players who are not good enough and have to be replaced, but lets be perfectly honest who will be willing to buy Pish!!!! Would we "NO" so do we expect other teams to part with the money we require to buy replacement angain the answer is "NO" we are now reaping the benefits of bad judgement, bad scouting and bad development
