My prediction/solution for a move is that our reserves enter League 2. Lawwell is always arguing for a better level of competition for our reserves, so that solves the quandry. Secondly over time stronger and stronger players will be shipped to the English side and eventually it may be of higher level ability than our SPL side.

O.K. so it's a pipe dream but in my view a more realistic option

If Celtic and them go to the EPL then i'll be buying a season ticket for Dundee United and will be finished with the hOOps.

Like it or not we'd be considered English clubs and how many Scots do you think we'd see play for the hOOps if we had the same money as the EPL teams? None probably.

    No thanks!!

Better to die standing than live on you knees!!!

We all want was best for Celtic FC, you can debate the affect of moving to the EPL or staying in the SPL forever more, but after witnessing the blatant cheating by the referee last Sunday I'll just be pleased to see Celtic get a fair chance to compete without having to overcome " The Mason in the Black " every week.

There are pros and cons to both sides of the debate and a move should only be considered when the pros hugely outweigh the cons of moving.

Leave the dinosaurs behind & move to the epl, in life you get * nowhere without taking chances! Celtic park would be buzzin, the cash would be rollin in, along with the players, standard of football would be a joy to watch. Even the championship down south is a better product that the spl. "But what about our identity??" . . We will always play our home games in glasgow, if we carry on getting smaller each season our identity will count for * all.

when is it the premier league is voting ???

they will knock us back again i'm sure of it !!!

best bet would be to sort out our league for the better and that means clubs joining together.

i think we could muster 20 strong scottish sides but there's a lot of pain to go through to get there.

So what happens if Celtic and Rangers get to the Prem, then stuggle to stay in the league, get relegated and become either a yoyo club or a mid table Championship club? I am not saying it will happen, but right now they would be in the bottom half of the Prem, they would be considerably worse after 3 years in the lower leagues. If they become a mid table CCC side, will yous want to go back to the SPL? How will Celtic and Rangers fans adapt to life not being in Europe every year and not winning anything?

It might seem like a great, romantic idea now lads, but prepare for some of the worst years in your Celtic supporting lives. The days of competing for titles, cups and European places will NOT be guaranteed in England. Forget about any 1 off game that yous won against English sides, when you are in these leagues week in week out, it is a different story.

Maybe a revamp of the SPL is a better idea?

Move South! There are plenty of Celtic Fans down South who would love to see the Hoops every other week! Sometimes you need to take a risk! Whether the Hoops start in the 'Old 4th Division' or 'Old 2nd Division' should not matter. If this doesn't happen then the Champions League could do with a re hash so that it becomes more like a cuptie again , then the likes teams in England/Italy and Spain would not get it their own way ALL OF THE TIME.
We are sitting on a 'time bomb' if we continue to plod along in the SPL!

Why bother with the EPL? Why not get a spot in La Liga? Nice weather over there.

There is no reason why the SPL cant be like the EPL or even better in 20 years. Scotland has the fans and the clubs. The EPL is becoming nothing but commercial *, the football comes 2nd to money.

All the SPL needs is investment outside of the top 2, to get them up there with Celtic and Rangers and making the league more competitive.

More competitive = more interest = more money = better players = better league.

Stay and make Scotland better, not England!

We aren't guaranteed a Champions League place any more. The SPL might never be guaranteed one ever again. That leaves us in a * league, with no cash, and a limited commercial appeal, which in turn leaves us unable to save the European situation, and on the vicious cycle goes, as we get dragged further and further into the darkness with the SPL.

On a level playing field we can outshine most of the Premiership in just a few seasons. We are a bigger club than all of them, rivals in terms of size even to Manchester United. In the EPL the crowds would come back, the atmosphere would come back, the competition would come back. We would reach a new level of global exposure, we would be able to take the Celtic Story to the world in ways never before imagined.

With EPL resources we can challange the best of them again. Isn't that what we want?

Staying in Scotland offers us nothing. We have reached the glass ceiling and are bouncing back off it with force, back into the depths of mediocracy and a lack of European success. Any successfull club must always have the next step in mind, and the next step is making the breakthrough in England. Being content with being has-beens in a third rate League is nothing short of negligent.
