Dunno about any of you, but I missed the presence of the two full backs today. I know our central defense was shameful, but Naylor's lead food crosses from 40 yards out and Wilson's obvious inexperience and lack of fitness were truly evident. Thoughts?

Actually I was reasonably happy with Wilson's efforts. He deputised quite well, as he did through the week. The difference between Fox and Naylor is chalk and cheese though.

As you alluded to, its the central defence that requires the most urgent attention.

We could have been doing with Fox and Hinkel as they have been 2 of our better players this season.

I had to laugh to myself when I seen Naylor trying to bomb down the wing. He looked like he was puting all his effort in but was getting nowhere fast then he didn't even recieve a pass and was knackered. Think it took him about 10mins to get back in to position.

I don't think either full back was really tested tbh. Going forward both players are better than what we had on today, but I though both played well and proved able to step in when we need them.

I thought that Naylor played fairly well.

me to. When Naylor is on form he is nearly as good as Fox although I think Fox shades it for being a neater passer and bigger. Fox is a modest improvement on an in-form Naylor not some kind of revelation. Personally I think we need both and should hang on to Nails.

Seems the break from the team has reinvigorated Naylor. His crossing was actually decent and hitting the box more than 75% of the time (as opposed to last season where his ratio was nearer 0%).

A great player to have as backup for Fox as I can't see us getting a better left-back prepared to sit on the bench all season.

Wilson done alright. You can tell he needs games to get match sharp again after a long time out. He simply isn't as good as Hinkel though so again is great to have on the bench.

I think if he didint have chronic knee problems Wilson could be a first choice. One sad thing is Wilson used to have great pace but all these injuries seem to have robbed him of a yard or so. Hopefully he can work on that.

i think wilson is terrible. he constantly seems ragged and his use of the ball is very bad defensively he can be a good little scraper but hes just not athletic enough not celtic class

I don't know that we missed them THAT much.

I thought Lee Naylor had a good game yesterday and usually does quite well in Old Firm games actually. Wilson wasn't great but didn't do anything terribly wrong.

VERY harsh, Wilson never does badly when he's called upon but I do agree that he needs games. Its a shame Hinkel has etablished himself in the team as I think Wilson is a good player( Remember Strachan said he has the attributes to play in the Premiership after the 3-2 game at Old Trafford?)

As for Naylor, I can't complain, looked far more assured than he usually does and he went staraight through Naismith in the 1st minutes, class!:84:

naylor was fine, and if i am being mega critical of wilson i think hinkel would of been quick enough to get acorss and put some pressure on miller, but that is me being very critical

I think Wilson is quicker than Hinkel but either way he had no chance, the Centre Halves made sure of that.

Exactly, I think people are just waiting to give out about Naylor because of his poor performances last year, but I thought he did fine yesterday.

Wilson wasn't great, but didn't really do anything wrong either.

Dont think having them in the team would have changed anything, nearly all the crosses into the box fell to a hun head.:38:
