You think we had them signs in 1982???????

    :56: :56: :56:

Do yourself a favour and stop mugging yourself off.

And I think you will find that I did not once accuse Serbia of racism...

They live in a country with limited imigration and have a different mindset to us as a consequence...

At least Serbias captian wasnt dropped for racism, you live in the most hypocritical country in the world chap.
England fan provoke everybody in every * country they go to, yet when something happens to them they go crying to the goverment or FIFA.
They are the laughing stock of the world.
So then why are you going wild at the Serbian bhoy on here if now you admit they have a different culture over there..

it takes two to fight. I dont excuse the racist behaviour of our fans, they should be banned. I dont fully know what started it, though we will obviously find out more during the investigation.

however what I find puzzling is if the media make out that we are all racists, then why didn't incidences like this occur when we played ghana, algeria, france, cameroon or any other african team or euro team with black players.

Because the English look to blame any country but their own, it takes the heat off their own country.
I dont belive half the time England claim racism, its seems to be if any black player in a England shirt even gets booed its automatically deemed racism.

I was at France 98 supporting England and the "riot" in Marseille WAS started by the local arab population. They started on a group of scarfers in the city-centre one night and then tried the same thing at the screening the day afterwards. Unfortunately they sooned learnt that the Englands fans stick together and are not frightened to fight back...

Yep, sometimes the English fans are the cause of trouble but as the above shows, the reporting is incerdibly bias...

Who said only England has * ? I'm Scottish anyway, so what relevance that has to me I don't know.

Every country in the world has racists. My point was, people calling for Serbia to be banned should maybe look closer to home. Just about every tournament you hear of English hooligans causing trouble.

Last night does nothing for Football. There needs to be a zero tolerance line taken by FIFA in regards to the racist chanting. This needs to be applied throughout football by all authorities, including the English FA who have been very lightweight with their own actions.

Expulsion from competitions would be a good deterrent.

    Fair play to ye...
You said * Serbia, i assume you would support that they should be kicked out of internation football.
If that was the case England wouldn have played a International game for 20 years!!!
The media is biased?? I remember panaroma on the BBC doing a big documenatary about the racism in the Euros, * Sol Campbell saying he would be fearful for his life!! What happened not one * thing, yet again the English media making a scene of another country, is that not called media biased???

Long time lurker but I have to say the ignorance, and well down right xenophobia in here has shocked me into action. Some of you should really be ashamed of yourselves. Anyone with a bit of life experience who's you know, actually traveled outside their home country will tell you that England stands up as a remarkably tolerant place to other races in comparison to most.

Have their been problems in the past? Absolutely. Bringing up England's hooligan problems in the past is only proof of what a nation can do when it really wants to eradicate a problem. Do we still have the odd racist comment here and there? Again, yes, no place is perfect - it's a constant ongoing battle and serves only as proof that we shouldn't rest on our laurels, but it's sure as * a lot better here than most places. Again John Terry being stripped of captaincy, and almost certainly have been banned from the England team after being found guilty by the FA is hardly an example of a country that just brushes racism under the carpet.

Are there racists in the UK? Again, absolutely. Again this is something we tackle with education and continuing the battle. Certainly there are far fewer open racists and ignorant comments often get shouted down, at football and beyond. Again, signs of improvement. That the BNP and EDL exist is neither here nor there, every single country in the world has far right movements.

So if someone comes up to you in the street and punches you, it took two to fight? There's video evidence of the * incident.

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Vg1Sh3z2B8"]Serbia U21 vs England U21 0-1 Fight and racist claims against Danny Rose 16.10.2012 - YouTube[/ame]

I see no England players chasing Serbian players, I see England players trying to get off the pitch, I see England players and coaches being assaulted. What do you see?

Likewise, there is no over the top celebration of the goal. They celebrate normally. They have no away end to go to. If you can't take that, then you really do need banning.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=9ZZY9U1CdDs

Yeah clearly just English players making it up, no monkey noises there at all...

Fortunately I know more than enough Celt's to know this isn't a fair reflection, and who would also be outraged by this and wouldn't try and use it to score points, because they aren't blinded by hatred. But this thread is a very poor reflection, or at least almost all the posts on the incident are.

Lastly, in between all the bile some of you have for England in here. Maybe you might want to listen to Danny Rose's interview. Maybe you'll understand that he and the other players are not just English, but human's. Maybe you'll understand the hurt. But then again, judging by the downright ignorance in here, maybe not.

If you've lurked here long enough you would have learnt that the only people you can be racist against without fear of condemnation is white Englishmen...

Everyone else is, apparently, wonderful and making a real significance to the "global village"...
