UEFA's handling of the Eduardo affair and now FIFA's handling of this only go to show that there is no hope for the smaller/medium sized clubs/nations in the future of football.

The big clubs/countries will he helped at every turn and given any possible assistance to help guarantee their participation in the Champions League or World Cup.

Why don't they just hand pick the 16 clubs they want to be in the Champions League and the 16 countries they want to be in the World Cup and * off and play the tournaments amongst themselves. It's obvious that nobody else is wanted in their elitist world.

I hope Ireland draw France and pump them out, that would be * hilarious.

    An absolute farce.

Well if they are seeding it , surley it should at least be the 4 teams who came 2nd with the most points which should be seeded? I would then assume ireland would be seeded provided they beat montenegro? * me their unbeaten but yet could be punished as they are not a ''big'' country.

The thing that really got me on this is the fact that Uefa changed the the champions league qualifier seeding situation to let teams from smaller countries participate yet FIFA turns around and does this

    Shay Given put it best.

Sure as soon as Platini saw that France might be heading for second he probably on the phone to Blatter to change the rules, we've seen FIFA are the biggest joke of an organization with that eejit Jack Warner as Vice-President.

FIFA/UEFA in other other line of business would get a lawsuit against them for corruption.

Blatant disregard at any premise of fairplay

    They suck monkey balls.

Chances are France, portugal,Russia or Greece. I'd take Greece but all tough. I hear people saying wed have a better chance of qualifying if we played France or Portugal knowing Ireland, the only thing is they can up it if for sucha big playoff in a heartbeat.

I think we would have a hard time beating any of those countries. Very little chance against France or Portugal over 2 legs. Maybe a shot against Russia as they are poor on the road very often. Clearly Greece is our best shot especially given they came out of the weakest European qualifying group.

This whole corruption fiasco on the part of FIFA to help out France and Portugal in particular ( Platini UEFA president) has just sickened me to this whole campaign. Obviously I want Ireland to win their playoff and make it but now in a way I really hope we get either France or Portugal and pull off a major upset and knock them out and whoever gets the other so called seeded countries I hope they knock them out too. * FIFA you disgusting corrupt cheating *!

Will Ukraine not be seeded above the Greeks?

Would have thought that would offer the best chance for the Irish. Or you could wish for Russia, pretend your English and blame it on the plastic pitch....

Big game tonight Uruguay vs Argentina, a local derby. Cant wait for it, ther will be goals and tasty challenges as its a derby match aswell. Cant see Argentina winning as there away form is terrible and they are a mess at the moment, Forlan and Suarez could score the goals to send Uruguay to the finals and make Argentina play a play off.

No think the Greeks are still edging it on rankings because of their 2004 success.

Does anyone know if Larsson or Samaras are starting in their matches tonight? Might stay on the PC and catch those games if they are, otherwise I'm going to crash in bed because I'm knackered!

The American Center of defense looks terrible. We miss Demeritt looks like. Gooch looks rusty as *. Real Shame they were a real powerful duo in Confederation Cup (but not perfect, just good at last ditch tackles)
