Marshall considers Celtic future

Ya can't blame him for wanting to play. He's has great potential and I dont want him to leave, GS should give him a few starts before the season's out. Boruc is good but we could have a better keeper on the bench.

 

Celtic must grant his wish to go out on loan next season or he will walk! He certainly has what it takes to become a great keeper but he needs to be playing! We have enough cover so, I dont see a problem with him going out for 1 season!

 

The problem is that if Boruc gets injured, we need Marshall in Reserve. Thats why he wasnt allowed out on loan. McGovern isnt good enough.

 

i think we should let him go on loan

 

he needs tae play 9 out of the last 12 games to get a medal no wonder he isnt bothered about winnin the league

 

I would won't him kept, but he should be allowed to ONLY go on loan. Can you not build into the loan deal a clause to allow him to be recalled ?

 

i wouldnt let him go,because knowing our luck Boruc id end up getting injured.Borucs been great in goals and i cant see him getting dropped,so i cant blame marshall for wanting to go out on loan.

 

The problem for Marshall is GS has stated on several occassions that he wants 2 good goalkeepers at the club at anyone time. If Marshall does go on loan there is a good chance that GS will sign another keeper for cover and Marshall could then find himself the 3rd goalkeeper at the club. Therefore going out on loan is a major gamble for him for that reason.

 

hmmmm i dont remember Boruc being injured in his whole career.And about Marshall,i never saw him in action so only thing i could tell is then Artur was nr 1 in Legia we had young & talented Fabianski on the bench.He chose to be the second and to practice with Boruc => now he is our nr1,and lots of experts says he is aldready better then Boruc in his age, even Boruc told Fabianski (20 years old) is better then Marshall but Marshall is really talented.Other thing is we have one of the best goalkeeper trainers in Europe,and as i know Boruc was complaining about the goalies trainings in Celtic,he was even joking about buying his previous trainer from Legia & paying from his own salary, so maybe its better for Marshall to go on loan for a year....

 

He could easily be re-called to the team if Boruc got injured.......So, I dont see the problem!

 

Nail on the head with that one Murph, it's sad to see such a young talented keeper kept on the sidelines for so long, he is bound to be feeling a bit low, I agree it would be a major gamble for him to leave on loan.
I would keep him and start giving him a start, even just to rest Boruc.

 

who the * does he think he is? he had 1 good game against barca and now he reckons hes a big shot. he was given his chance and he * it up.

 

put him out on loan were everton not looking for a goalkeeper on loan for the rest of the season?

 

you can definately rig a loan deal so the player can be recalled yes? so why not do that? then were covered if artur gets injured. plus it would be a good idea to hang onto marshall because if boruc keeps up his standards he will be in the premiership in a few years, so we will need him long term.

 

Spot on mate, he couldn't get his game above big Rab, that says a lot.

If we get in a decent enough back up then i'd let him go on loan.

Exactly - you should not judge an 18 year old goalkeeper. He rises to the occasion at important times e.g Barcelona(UEFA Cup), saving a ronaldinho penalty(Champions league). He has never really done anything wrong. The defence was at its worst at the start of the season. I don't blame him for all the goals we conceded then.

 

i have been asking why marshall hasnt been played. i want to see him back. he had a few bad games but as a goalie he is remembered for the f***k ups not the saves. keep him.

 

you can't drop boruc just for the sake of giving marshall a game !
