    I agree with you we badly need to buy a proven goalscorer. But we do not need to sell anybody to do so. We have next to no debt. If the board really wanted to we could easily afford to keep McGeady and buy a new striker.

    mcginn though is really mainly about pace. A really quick FB would have no problem marking him because he is not that tricky.

    99.9% of these players that LOVE our club would * off to epl given the right team and money was on offer. The days of players playing for the jersey are over/gone/finished. When was the last time a player in his mid 20's said they would like to end their playing days here,other than the really crap ones we had to put up with.

    in response to craigyjac, i think mcgeady is good to have as a winger as he drives us forward in attack and likes to take players on and get into dangerous positions.. granted he maybe doesnt score enough but he gets us in and around the oppositions box. the past few games before he got injured he looked like one of the few players with enough desire and dig. i dont think that we are going to be able to attract a better wide player than mcgeady to celtic if we sell him. I think it showed that we missed mcgeady against st mirren because our link up play from midfield to the strikers wasnt the best. mowbray will be kickin himself after throwin him on when we were 3 up against falkirk

    i dont think he could play in any team in premiership

    think at best he would be just above a mid table team.

    can you see mceady filling ronaldo's boots at man u? .. or what about arshavin at arsenal? .. or what about liam millers boots at man u?
