As for the title of the thread, all I will say is WGS was a clever clever manager in the CL games and I think most of what we achieved in the CL (3 runs, 2 last 16s in 4 years) was down to him. I think Mowbray is one of those guys who is really a man manager and not tactically brilliant. Tell you what, big Tony topped WGS tonight for odd formations, weird selections and annoying substitutions.

I think people will come to appreciate that WGS was using whatever means possible (ugly or not) to win with a modest/ cheap level of player. So while I think 'worse than' is total nonsense, I do agree that the season so far, especially the European games (bar Moscow away) does give the impression that Mowbray doesnt have WGS's ability in Europe. Remember under WGS and MON, Parkhead was a total fortress but we lost 2 out of 2 home CL games. I think there have from the start been concerns that Mowbray will be tactally niave but I am genuinely surprised to see the evidence for this emerge so soon. I also think in even SPL games that the way he plays leaves our defence badly exposed.

Tony Mowbray - "I would like to build a team that can compete at all levels, to be feared and respected, not only in the Scottish game but in Europe. When I watch Spain, Barcelona and great technical teams and players, I try to recreate that where possible."

Why the f**k play 4-5-1 in our last two game, ye tony Barcelona!

    Defender in Midfield
    Top scorer given 2 mins
    Taking off Landry *??
    Three wingers in Midfield
Not changing anything as it was crystal clear the game was slipping away!
    Need i go on???

Saturday's tactics were * tonight was a lot lot worse!!!!

I support Mogga but how on earth does he take Ngeumo off when we're 0-1 up, a scary decision imo and its left me with serious doubt in his decision making. Scott Brown contributed zero.

Mowbray is clueless. His substitutions are awful, he slags players in the press, he drops our top players, he already has his favourites. But he's a Celtic man, so that's okay then.....

I just cant help but feel Levein would have been a great Celtic manager. He is kind of the opposite of Mogga. More tactical and organised. We may be paying the price already for a manahger whose reputation is based on style and football ideals not success. We have been here before. I think Mogga's next big test will be a decent result in the OF game. If we lose that one I can see the vultures really circling

The 2nd half was pathetic from everyone involved.

Oh, bring back Strachan, all is forgiven!

The fans will want him out by Christmas. The same fans who lambasted Strachan, even though he was a safe pair of hands who won tight games and trophies.

That was literally the worst game ive watched for ages, from a personal point of view.

The football was dire, celtic looked completely passionless, and the result was shocking.

one bad result doesnt mean anything though.

but.....PLEASE NEVER PLAY CALDWELL IN MIDFIELD AGAIN. why on earth is this happening when we have about 8 central midfielders, including Barry Robson who's one of the best in the country.

    WHY?:31::31::31:

I know Mowbray wants to give everyone in the team a fresh start and a chance to prove themselves but someone has to tell him not to do it in European games. McGinn was unheard of in the first team until last weekend and now hes been throwing on in a important european game?

Never mind that, he'll never be forgiven for Artmedia. Pathetic but true

We only failed to overcome Artmedia by one single jammy goal as well

The first game against Artmedia we saw our wonder goalkeeper Marshall
let five goals whistle by him. You can't legislate for poor goalkeeping like that

Poor Strachan he was on a hiding to nothing

    over and over

i do think it's early to be having a massive go at TM, but tonight was indeed one of the worst 90 minutes i've seen from a manager.

4-5-1 against such a * side was pathetic.

i didn't think we were playing well in the first half, i actually thought we were fortunate to go in one up.

second half was worse anti-football than i've even seen from a rangers side.

anytime samaras was getting the ball was on the halfway line, that beggers belief.

    substitutions, don't make me laugh.

mcmanus back in. why oh why was o'dea let go when he's here.

caldwel in midfield, why?? so he could make * passes and foul constantly.

closing down of opposition players is worse than it was under strachan. i actually said to my da that anytime they have the ball we let them have it comfortably and that when we had it we were put under pressure.

manager aside, there are far too many players that don't have the psychological mindset to be playing for a club as big as celtic, far far too many kids.
