Lets be honest celtic will not win the champions leauge next year. We have a fair chance of winning the European cup this year. Although every player needs to be on top form as they have put in some dissapointing preformances already this season.

Celtic need to spend they are not tight on money. They need to spend to progress the more we progess in europe we will get the money back.

I prefer to see the talking done on the picth too. What's the point in blabbing about winning it when we haven't kicked a ball in anger?

Anybody who thinks we're among the favourites really hasn't seen the opposition.
Then there's the drop outs from the CL.

We're all cautiously optimistic, but we've seen calamities before, so let's not underestimate anybody

I wouldn't even count us among the top ten favourites.

We could win this Europa League if we treat every game like a champions league game.

I don't think his comments were as bad as the headline suggests, he was basically saying we have as much chance as anyone else as the Europa League is a lot more open than the CL where it's the same few teams that will always be competing for it.

I agree that players shouldn't spout we are going to do this or that before a ball is even kicked but nothing wrong with saying we have as much chance as anyone else.

I was referring more to some of our fans than to Hinkel.

I know what you mean - I don't think any game will be easy, but some fans seem to think tomorrow for instance will be a walk over.

HTA are decent enough with some good players and a passionate crowd behind them so I don't think it will be as easy as some people seem to think (hope I'm wrong though)

Win it? At this stage i'll be content with getting through the group stages. Hamburg look very good, very very impressive so far this season. Rapid Vienna knocked Aston Villa out and should be tough, especially in the away game with a bumper 50,000 crowd. Don't know much about Hapoel Tel Aviv but I from what I do, they'll be technically good, well organised and have a decent crowd behind them. 3 points tomorrow would be a good start, i'll start dreaming of the final when if/we get a bit further in the tournament.

A good example of the standards we're up against is when you see football from around Europe. The SPL looks, with the exception of us, to be poorer quality than the Czech, Austrian, Swiss and Belgian leagues from what I've seen. The German 2nd division offers far more skillful teams than our mighty Murderwells, or Frillmarnocks.

I think bothe Hapoel and the Unmentionables from the place where Hitler was born will offer a far stiffer test than anything we see in the SPL, huns included.

People seem to forget that. Just because the names are unhistoric, unepic and unfamiliar people think they're diddy teams and it'll be walkover.

It won't be. I think the names Artmedia, Aalborg, Copenhagen and Basel in recent years say enough to warrant caution regarding our expectations.

Can we win the Europa league? sure - as long as a good few other teams have some Calamity Moments.

As I say, let's not get too carried away. Yet.

It's a bit early to be getting carried away, we still have to get through a very tough group, there are a lot of good teams in the Europa League this year so it will be difficult.

our aim now should be to qualify from the group once we done that look to make it to the quarter finals and if we do then id say we have a chance . and a wouldnt say in the competition the now that there are ten favourites infront of celtic the now to win probs 8 but once cl drop outs come in then you will see us fall down the line of favourites

Yeah, think we'll do well in the Europa League, hopefully to the later stages
I personally feel that it's better for us to play in the Europa League rather the the Champions League at this present time

He's either daft or he wants to give fans some false hope. I wish our players just stop giving interviews, let big Mogga speak and stop your bullshit.

Id rather everybody kept a lid on this until we get a couple of wins under our belts.

The bookies see us as a middle of the road team in the competition - odds ranging between 33-1 to 50-1.

    I think thats about right.

Anybody who thinks we're good enough to win this cup is living in cloud-cuckoo land. Hinkel+Caldwell would do better improving their game than making arrogant comments, we'll do well just to qualify from our group.
