Back to the Bread & Butter of the SPL at the Weekend, Who do you think will line up for us against Dundee United on Saturday?

    Heres my Team:

    GK: 1.Artur Boruc

    RB: 2.Andreas Hinkel
    CB: 22.Glenn Loovens
    CB: 4.Stephen McManus (c)
    LB: 11.Danny Fox

    RW: 20.Paddy McCourt
    CM: 6.Landry N'Guemo
    CM: 8.Scott Brown
    LW: 13.Shaun Maloney

    ST: 7.Scott McDonald
    ST: 9.Georgios Samaras

    Subs: 24.Zaluska (GK), 5.Caldwell, 17.Crosas, 19.Robson, 33.Killen, 52.Caddis & 55.McGowan..

Im not sure if Zheng Zhi's Papers have went threw yet, & I dont think hes fully match fit anyway, So doubt he will play, but he might make an apperance on the bench.. But with the Under 21 Rule, its hard to fit him in..

I think Artur Boruc, Scott Brown & Stephen McManus should all be fine to play as they all played on Wednesday for there Countries so they should be fine.. Fortune is out unfortunately & Robson should be ok to come off from the bench so we do have some big players coming back, which is good :icon_mrgreen:

& it was between Caddis, Mizuno & McCourt to replace the suspended McGeady, I chose McCourt cos I think he deserves a starting role in the first team, but wait & see what Mowbray does...

Can't see anything wrong with that, although perhaps reinstating McManus over Caldwell will prove controversial for some? Hopefully Brown is not too * after the Scotland match. If he weren't to make it, that'd give us a real headache: who would fill in the central midfield role now Hartley and Donati have gone? The new boy ZZ? Could be a bit of agamble against United, but doesn't Crosas seem out of favour a bit?

Let's take the worst case scenario, and assume Brown doesn't make it- my team would be:

    Boruc

    Hinkel
    Loovens
    Caldwell
    Fox

    McCourt
    N'Guemo
    Zheng Zhi
    Maloney

    McDonald
    Samaras

I think Crosas is a great player, especailly for his age and I hope he gets loads of playing time this year. My line up would be.

    Boruc

    Hinkel
Caldwell (Take it easy on him hes had some tough breaks)
Loovens (Easily one of our most consistent performers this year)
    Fox

    McCourt
N'Guemo (N'Guemo and Crosas can hold down the midfield to let McCourt and Maloney run free)
    Crosas
    Maloney

    Sammy
    Skippy

Alot will depend on how Broonie is after the international duty... Especially given he had a delayed start to the season due to injury also, might be best to give him a few extra days to freshen up ahead of the European tie next week.

I rate Crosas as a player, and believe he has genuine quality. Hopefully he'll get a few opportunities this term, and am glad to see the return of Robbo to fitness, though not sure if he is ready for a league start quite yet.

Drop Shaun Maloney? Are you radio rental?? Maloney has been one of our best players this season and does not deserve to be dropped.

I think Tony Mowbray might go with this team:

    ---------------------------The Holy Goalie--------------------------

    -----Hinkel------------Caldwell----------Loovens---------Fox-------

    -----Caddis------------Brown----------N'Guemo----------Maloney--

    -----------------------Samaras---------McDonald-----------------

Good team, except 1) Caldwell for McManus; 2) McCourt for Flood; 3) Maloney for Robson, and 4) Samaras for Killen

My team would be similar to the squad we were all seeing this season:

    Zaluska

    Hinkel----Caldwell----Loovens----Fox

    ----------N'Guemo----------

    Caddis----Brown----Flood----Maloney

    -------McDonald-------

Correct me if I'm wrong with Flood, heard he was injured recently. Boruc is injured, but I have full faith in Zaluska. We have 3 ex-DU players here, so I think their experience from Tannadice may help us big time.

I hope players are aware that Dundee United is one of few SPL teams who always cause trouble to Old Firm two, so I wouldn't like to see them going in this game with ease. I guess if job gets done in first half, we can see some young forces coming from the bench. Again, they are a very good side and mustn't be underestimated.

    Come on the Hoops!:50:

i dont kow about mccourt he can make some brilliant runs but from the games that ive watched of him, he has been no exisitent apart from one solo run in each of the games. he's not got a lot of pace and from what ive seen not alot of strength, he tries to do the "hollywood" pass instead of doing the simple things. i hope he comes good cause he has some talent but from what ive seen he is nowhere near good enough to challenge for a place in the first team.

is it definately this weekend mcgeady is suspended cause i thought the ban was delayed because it wasnt a straight red.

Think Boruc is injured lads? Not sure.
Si if he is id definitely give Zaluska a chance, good wee keeper.
    Zaluska
    Hinkel O'Dea Loovens Fox
    Mizuno N'Guemo Brown Maloney
    Skippy Samaras

Dont want to risk Mick after 2 hectic games for Scotland..where he was very good btw!and Heid should be given a wee rest to clear his head imo. Dont know if Broony be ok but if not throw Crosas in there with N'Guemo.

O'Dea's on loan at Reading Bud, so he wont be playing, but good side to go with, Think Boruc should be alright he played for Poland in mid-week, so if he had any injuries he wouldnt have played that game, so he should be fine..

If you add Robbo then we would have four Ex Arabs in the team all
able to expose their old team's weaknesses

I like your way of thinking :icon_mrgreen:

Keep Caldwell in for Mick for now (its a confidence crisis not complacency, dropping him will do him no favours) and wouldn't mind Killen getting a shot instead of Sammy.
