think Caddis did no harm to his stake yesterday and tbh, he would of been my first choice replacement for McGeady anyway.

Caddis he deserves a chance, I was hoping he would get more first team games this season to.

I've been weighing up the candidates, and considering the opposition since starting the thread. DU are one of the stronger teams in the SPL, and usually give us a decent game. With that in mind here's my thoughts on the contenders.

McCourt: I'd like to see this guy weave his magic on the wing for us, however, at this stage i'm not sure how reliable he is, will he be breathing out of his * after 30 minutes? will he track back if/when required? Ideally, i'd like see him tested him out against lower level opposition that are likely to be pinned in for the majority of the match. A bit like when Scotland used to wheel out Pat Nevin when playing diddy teams :icon_mrgreen:

Mizuno: Not really 100% sure of what this guy can offer, would be fitter & faster than McCourt, but how effective?

Flood: Plenty of industry, tenacity and good support play from this guy, but question marks over what he offers in terms of offensive cutting edge.

McGinn: Good write up from his national coach, despite very little game time for Celtic. Have to confess that I know little about him, so can't offer much of an opinion.

Caddis: Looks good both defensively and offensively, quick, decent tackling, passing and crossing. Has earned a spot with decent sub performances so far.

Fox: Looks very comfortable at left back, supports play well and gets crosses in. Would probably be successful in a more advanced role, but IMO if it aint broke don't fix it. Continued building of understanding with Maloney more important.

    Surprise contender!

Samaras: Dont laugh! Sammi looks like a player who wants to see more of the ball than your average forward/striker. We often see him involved in approach play, finding space and has the ability to accelerate at the opposition with the ball. Offers height at set pieces, but obvious defensive deficiencies (although got in some great sliding challenges pre-season).

Based on the opposition, Caddis for me at the moment.

i would love to see mc court get a chance... 1..because hes from my home town ,2 ,,,i think tm has some thing up his sleeve concerning mc court .as he hasend played him for a while and my b saveing him for shuch occassion as someone injured,,,and he has been doing extra trainning to get him 100% fit ,, even if he starts him for the first half and not against lower clubs ,,as i believe you will see the best /worste of him he has to be tested agaist the better clubs for tm to see wher he stands with him ,,so go on give him his chance ..and if he is not up to stander,,nothing gained /nothing lost ..we have to try him ; slan anios mo charras ...neart le cheili{together strong]

Nice work, just about sums it up for me. However my conclusion:

Flood to start - simply because he has much more top level SPL experience, and I suspect tougher in the tackle, and a better grip of positioning/tactics than Caddis. Caddis to be on the bench as an impact player to replace Flood, perhaps on 60-70 mins.

Oh yeah, Flood has been moaning lately about not getting into the first 11 so I think Mowbray might respond by starting him..

Caddis should start, Mizuno is no more than reserve level as shown in pre-season, Fox should stay where he is and it will be no more than a straight swap between McGeady and Caddis. ;)
