    Most Arsenal fans I know, and those on various message boards, have not defended Eduardo's actual dive. We just feel he is being made an easy example of while other players get away with it as usual. If post match reprimands are given across the board, then we have no complaint.

    Even I came on here on the night and said it was a dive.

    You are right, Eudardo is being made an example of but he * deserves it, and so does McGeady and any other diving,cheating *.

    What's your honest opinion of the Eudardo Incident
    Edit: I noticed you accepted it was a dive.

    As I said on the night, what he did was wrong.

    But furthermore to that, it seems he will be punished and then the whold diving issue will be forgotten until the next high profile case (after all, who gives a crap if a small team like Hibs are dived against?).

    If this sets a permanent precedent then fair enough. But we all know this is just showboating by UEFA to appease revenge mob mentality and not a deep investigation into the widespread culture of diving.

    He deserves to be made an example of. There's diving to win a penalty and then there's diving in the Champions League to win a penalty when you're already up 2-0 and killing off a potentially exciting 2nd leg. He absolutely disgraced the entire playoff and deserves to have himself disgraced for that.

    Nobody is saying that he shouldn't be made an example of. The point is that this is an exercise by UEFA to be seen as doing something, and soon enough it will be forgotten and diving will still go on unscrutinised in many cases.

    I don't think so. UEFA will need to see this thru.

    Wasn't Wenger calling for tougher penalties for divers a wee while back?
