So, will the GB be showing their support for the PLO when we play in Israel?

    Could get messy.

Im also baffled at how a GB member posting on an Israeli forum is greeted with an IRA-PLO same stuggle picture.

What constitutes being a 'good' republican mate?.....Like If am a republican and decide i don't want to associate myself with sectarian chants when i attend the game with my son does that make me a bad republican? If I decide that I just want to go to the match and shout on the Celtic without shouting and singing my political affiliations from the roof tops am i a bad republican?....a bad Tim?.....A vast majority of Tims do come from Irish backgrounds and many sympathise with the republican cause.....But not EVERY Celtic fan feels the need to express their political and religious beliefs through Celtic football club on a Saturday afternoon. Celtic Park is where we go to watch and support Celtic.....That's it.

Our greatest ever football manager disagreed publicly, should he have moved to Saudi Arabia too?

As one of the many millions of kids who grew up under Thatcher's tyranny you obviously haven't a scooby about me or my political views, so wind your neck in and have a word with yourself will ya :bbpd:

I don't like the GB because they try desperately to draw a political parrallel with their views and Celtic Football Club. Notice the bit in bold, it's Football and not Political.

As I said previously, I'd love to see all the wannabee Palestinian supporters bringing their flags and shirts to Tel Aviv. We'll see how many of them are pallying up with their comrades then :56:

A dont really see what the problem is, they have said they dont speak for all fans or the club and none of the views seem offensive ( correct me if am wrong). Plus a think they have brought sum much needed energy to the fans at home and especially away, which cant be a bad thing can it? Think sum of the people moaning about them on heer are just getting to the age wer they need somthing to moan about TBO.

I'm not actually a massive fan of The Green Brigade, Rude Bhoys, etc.., either. Some of their antics, ie. - the poppy carry on, was ridiculous.
However, what i do detest is any form of racism, & your hatred of Palestinian people certainly seems to border on racism.
As for the politics of groups like the GB, if it discourages the type of racism which our "fans" displayed to Mark Walters in 1988 (a game which i was at & was my most embarrassing moment ever as a Celtic fan) then that at least is no bad thing.
Praise should also go to groups like Red Action, Anti-Fascist Action, Celtic Fans Against Fascism, & the Celtic Soccer Crew, for their work in eradicating this sort of racism from our support.

The idea that politics is "nothing to do with football" is patently false, as a basic knowledge of the history of countless clubs across the world proves.

Some of the oldest rivalries in the sport - e.g. Boca / River , A.C Milan / Inter - basically stem from pre-existing political rivalries.

I wish people would say what they really mean - "I wish, personally, that politics had nothing to do with football".

To pretend there is no connection between the two is ludicrous - we only have to look at who the current Celtic chairman is, examine the response to his appointment among fans, and ask ourselves why the owner chose him in the first place. If that's all nothing to do with politics I will eat Charlie Adam's sister's hat.

You're talking out of your *, to be honest. I've argued with him many times, and if you want to understand his view point it is, in my experience at least, very similar to the view point of many people on the Israeli forum. Racism and bigotry is a huge accusation, and until someone explicitly says they dislike a race of people you'd be well served to back off of that kind of *. It doesn't add anything to the debate and only enflames sentiment.
