In fairness Tel Aviv are known to be left wing and ANTIFA, very similiar to the GB. Tel Aviv also have links to St Pauli so there is that little connection.

I don't like the GB, and more so after their antics with the Poppy day walkout and their bullying tactics to try to get other supporters to join them.

Hapoel TA are left wing namely because they come from a very hard core working class background and most of their fans are low earning working class guys. Sure they're socialists but I'll tell you one thing.....any GB member * stipud enough to show up with a Palestinian flag or banner will probably find himself wandering shoeless around the Negev desert...and if that's the worst he gets he should be grateful.

There's a post on Page 15 where the GB member squirms his way around trying to explain why GB members fly Palestinian flags...what a tool. They're big enough to fly them at CP but not big enough to bring them over here and fly them....will show them to be the hypocrits they really are.

This discussion just goes to prove we are a broad church with political and non political supporters. The most important thing is we are all celtic daft and that we welcome others to paradise the way we would like to be welcomed when playing away in europe.

I'm unsure of the Green Brigade. How much does it cost to join them?

    What is their dress code?

What the really sad thing about that thread is the Rangers fans hyjacking it and the lies they are spreading:

"The GB are very racist Gordon Strachan got them 3 titles, but, they still hated him simply because he was Protestant."

    Pathetic.

What are some people on this forum about? This whole thread is basically a dig at the Green Brigade.

Where abouts does it say he speaks for all Celtic Fans?

And if you say football and poltics dont mix then you are very wrong. POLITICS IS EVERYTHING/EVERYWHERE. Who are you to also judge people for what there poltical view is?

Another thing is people seem to forget that alot of Celtic fans came from Republican families at the very beginning due to the irish settlement in Glasgow at the time. These views have stood strong to this day and had been voiced throughout Celtic Park for decades and all of a sudden just because the modern day fan doesnt agree with it you should call them names and immature?

I don't imagine many of the people in this thread hounding the Green Brigade go too many away games, because you'd probably be sick at the Republican songs being sang. Although when you watch it on telly you think " Ohh Yess The Celtic Fans Are Amazing Today "

The same lot who probably like the " Ohh Ahh Up The Celts " Banner and then would hound them for when they do a display or sing Republican songs.

IMO The songs sung in away games often reflect oddball people who are clearly far more interested in Irish republicanism than football. They really should just get together and attend a fortnightly political rally and just cut out the distraction of football. The worst of them make us look like provocative scum ramming political views down the throats of away fans who dont want to know. Away grounds are not a suitable venue and I would welcome an even handed but firm approach wherebye the singing of either loyalist or republcan songs that are sectarian or refer to paramiliterism or are simply likely to be offensive to the opposition fans is punished by major fines and if it happens say more than 3 times in a season its points deduction time. I would also love to know how many of those with the Palestinian flags really understand the situation there? I doubt many do because there are plenty of fans who act the Irish republican who when you get talking with them transpire to have a really poor understanding of the Irish troubles.

According to the GB Forum Celtic & Hapoel fans have met before at a Anti-racism football tournament and got on really well. The way it works is the Celtic fans wouldnt agree with our government about the war in Iraq etc and the Hapoel fans didnt seem to agree with the Palestine situation. Yes your going to get idiots that will fly PLO flags because others do and they think its cool.

@Gunt: Your basically calling all of the away fans oddball people then. the Celtic support has sung these songs for decades and all of a sudden it's a bad thing? I dont think so. The majority of Celtic fans views will be/have been to the left and the majority will have sung these songs at football games for years. Football has, everywhere and has been since the early days, been a place were politics are aired by the support of a club because the people who support a club have all come from the one area and background.

the SFA cannot ban Celtic for singing republican songs either.

You don't like the GB be because they are left-wing & your politics are right-wing.
You are probably one of the few (maybe 2 or 3) Celtic fans who will demand a minutes silence when you're political heroin, Margaret Thatcher dies.

Aye seen that, the reason (his/her personal reason) was that he/she sides with Palestine, not because of evil Isreal but because of the USA and the British government bully tactics?:97: He goes on, after being told that taking sides in this paticular conflict only makes matters worse,
" People who do fly it without knowing what is actually going on are ignorant to the facts and should educate themselves on what the situation is." :icon_mrgreen:

Am i the only one who found it embarressing when the two old firm fans started the childish argument that went on for at least half the thread?
