i was talkin to a mate about this earlier. a player who is found to be diving or cheating should be banned for a certain amount of games and fined. it might not get rid of it entirely but it will cut it down a bit at least i reckon.

No. I don't believe you can ever be too honest in football. Whilst we may be losing games and not sitting at the top table in football; I wouild much rather that we didn't have cheating players playing for us. The last time I checked that didn't factor into 'The Celtic Way'.

I've always been a huge admirer of Eduardos, especially in light of that horrendous injury, where his foot almost came off! I remember feeling quite shocked at that. Now every time I see him; i'll still probably be in awe of some of his touches and finishes at the end of brilliant Arsenal moves, but there will always be that bit of me that thinks: little diving b%$^ard.

Diving and play acting is just an absolutely pathetic thing for a grown sportsman to do and whoever was co-commentating for stv (Nicholas?) should be ashamed of himself for more or less condoning it.

Most players from abroad go down very softly which in europe is something we need to do. Dont like seeing it but in europe its vital. Even the arsenal players were doing it alot they were throwing there weight around but when we did it they went down.

i'd be more heart broken if we started doing this falling over/getting players booked * than if we just beat them fair and square

YEAH we're sometimes (we aint always innocent) f*cked and in the spare of the moment i'd love to fall over everywhere to advantage the bhoys

I detest play acting and Lafferty against Aberdeen was the most distasteful I can remember for ages. Eduardo is a cheating wee * also. But in all honesty it balances itself out in the long run.

Hate to point it out but Naka was culpable on occasion, as has M'cDonald. Theres a saying in sport - 'if you are'nt cheating you are'nt trying'..

    Not a philosophy I appreciate.

Clubs are'nt responsible for it, its the individuals and every club has them.

possibly; while i would never condone diving or just outright cheating like eduardo last night we do need to get a bit more streetwise in europe. theres no use bleating and moaning about how much of a collective pansy the other team is (arsenal being the prime example) because at the end of the day we got outclassed in this case.

of course if we can beat teams through our football then we never would have to resort to such dirty tactics. there was an instance last night when arsenal won a foul when sagna and mcdonald were running for a ball down the flank and sagna was falling before mcdonald got within a yard of him!!! :47:

Nobody can be more fed up with Celtic being cheated in Europe than myself but I still don't want to see our players stooping to Eduardo's level. Where's the fun in winning when you know you've cheated? It's a hollow victory. We may be out of the Champions League but at least we have our integrity in tact.

The saddest thing is, that wee shitehouse Eduardo won't have a grain of guilt or conscience in him about what he did last night. Cheating *. :47:

I think the player and the club should be hit with fines and bans coz it could stop players doin it.

Cheating in sport is nothing short of sickening and i would be embarassed for my own players if they were found to be diving/simulation or faining injury.

Hate the fact that talented players, i.e. Ronaldo, Eduardo, feel the need to dive.
Have to say we are not that innocent either, Jarosik vs Man Urd for Naka free kick ?

admire your belief but, its time for us to grow up no one remembers losers, saying goes '' wot goes around comes around'' this has happened to us in europe to often to count.

sport has always been about trying to gain any advantage poss, the best boots , drugs, special suits for swimming, the best technoligy ,so its not really a new thing,we need to drop our morals like the english c..ts did years ago when it kept happening to them, and move with the times till it gets stamped out for the good of football.

Us starting to dive as well is hardly going to help stamp it out of football is it? :97:
