I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not so.....

    1) Martin O'Neill was successful with the 3-5-2, because the players at the time suited it. The declination of certain players and the obvious limitations of the system facilitated the 4-4-2 in later years.

    2) Our best players suit 4 at the back. Fact.

O.k. to test your "fact" explain this:

    1) Why have the past 3 managers consistently used 4 at the back?

    2) Name me a European, nah, any successful team that uses the 3-5-2

O'Neill is now at Aston Villa and uses 4 at the back. Different periods of time and personnel call for different tactics and formations. At this moment in time 3-5-2 won't even be a consideration.

3-5-2 would deffo work in some SPL games but not against the likes of Arsenal. I would like an attack minded 4-3-3 tonight, but we definitely need 4 at the back tonight!

I think 4-4-2 in the way Brits play it is old, predictable, and unsuitable for us. 3-5-2, 4-1-3-2, 4-3-1-2 should be our formations.
