I said this in the other thread but it's been posted up online now

The Daily Record - George Galloway

This is someone that moves in the circles where it is common knowledge Megrahi is innocent. He works for Iranian tv, has dealt with Palestine at all levels and handed the American senate their * on a plate for trying to mess with him. Puts it beyond doubt for me.

Agree, I'm sure one of the victim's parents even said he was innocent.

A lot of people believe this but if its common knowledge to those in the know why was there not a re-trial. It would have ment that this poor guy if truly innocent could have gone home to die a free man.

We were singing from America's song sheet at the time and you can now see the fact we didn't do what we were told by letting him out has * them off big time. There was no chance of a re-trial because if all the facts were placed on the table then Megrahi would have been let off like his pal was, yet they both stood trial in front of the same mass of evidence against them both. :97:

Apparently Scotland is now a friend of terrorism according to the head of the FBI. Funny that, America has trained, funded and backed more terrorist organisations than any country in the history of planet earth. Hypocrites.

This one episode is a great wee example of why, in my opinion, an independent Scotland would be a good thing. America did not want this man freed and you can bet your last pound if it had been left up to David Cameron or Gordon Brown the man would not be free now. If Scotland was free we could make our own foreign policy decisions and distance ourselves from the UK and US foreign policies which provoke so much hostility around the globe.

Galloway is brilliant. His beliefs and arguements are always controversial but always spot on. I'm also proud of our scottish government for not letting america bully them into making a different decision on Megrahi, everything is double standars for america. Cast your minds back a few months ago when the scottish bloke who hacked the US military database to find out about UFO's wasn't allowed to return to the UK to be tried even after our governments plea for his release. They kept him and tried him in America which would inevitably lead to an unfair, bias trial. Now, we have released an innocent man and the rowdy yanks have called for boycott of scottish goods and such.

Totally out of order from the US and they once again have shown how they are the most narrow minded, ignorant nation in the world.
