It was WGS's biggest downfall in Europe.

He pulled the crayons out before every away game (Chris Killen in Benfica ) and came up with bizarre formations and team selections that only served to confuse the players.

Moscow proved what can happen when you trust in your own principles and play your own game.

I realise that we need 2 goals and ive looked at the suggested teams posted but if we play such an attacking formation away to Arsenal we will get pumped 4 or 5.

As frustrating as it may be the opening 25mins isnt the time to go gung ho at the Emirates, that would be suicide. We need to take a leaf out of none other than Walter Smiths book and be patient and keep it tight for a while.

Once the initial sting has been dampened out of Arsenal we try and gradually impose ourselves offensively and make good use of set plays etc. In the final 30 minutes if the score is still level we go for broke. Get a goal then and the momentum will drive us on and panic Arsenal.

It will be the exact same team that played St Johnstone on Saturday.

everyones posting more or less the same team. main difference i think being the midfield. people seem to be going with crosas or donati.

its not doubt our best team, and like 1eclipse said, we need to play very passive for a while, and then just turn up the flair. bare in mind arsenal are 2-0 up, obviously they would like a couple of goals more to excite the fans, but its a bit risky for them leaving the defence open to counter attacks, so i can see them just sitting tight playing passing and possesion football with the odd attack. cant see them doing a dinamo though and going 8-1-1 lol

i still think a 4-4-2 would be the best option, maybe switching to a diamond formation midfield ( like 4-1-2-1-2 ), or maybe just push one of the midfielders up more to assist the strikers. if tony mowbary can turn this result around in our favour and get us into the champions league, it would be amazing! but even dropping into the europa league im happy with.

I think o dea should be in for caldwell hate when we play 1 up front i think it should be 4-4-2 mcdonald fortune up front brown and donati in the center with maybe flood coming of the bench instead of donati at some stage if the game is still in our graspe with mcgeady and maloney on the wings that would be a fast attacking midfield to bring the game to arsenal

    I'd like to see:

    Boruc
    Hinkel Caldwell Loovens Fox

    McGeady Donati OR Brown Maloney

    Samaras McDonald Fortune

    I expect to see:

    Boruc
    Hinkel Caldwell Loovens Fox

    McGeady Donati Brown Maloney

    McDonald Fortune

Not that i'd be unhappy with the second one, i'd just like to see us really go for it, though if we do get that early goal take the extra striker off i think!
