fact remains caldwell is the same poor defender he was at hibs. Alright, he had a good season last year but he plays for celtic and is going to get away with a lot of his blunders. I come to expect these errors from him.

The guy has hit a bad patch and instead of getting behind him we jump on his back. Tell me, when we drop him, who is going to play in his place? McManus? Wouldnt be too long and you'd be slating him.

 

He has had some bad luck ffs but he never shirks from the challenge , never hides and always gives his all so lets chill gawd

I wonder how many of the " drop caldwell " gang would have been saying drop boruc last year when he went through his bad patch ? sometimes no matter how hard you try you have a run of bad luck and he is having a little now

 

just waiting for the daft calls foe Darren 'San Siro' 'hes never let us down' O'Dea whose mistakes are always immediately deleted from memory. Bottom line is Caldwell and Loovens are a very good partnership who were excellent last season. Caldwell is just having some sort of confidence crisis but he and Loovens are better than the other options by miles in terms of dominance, aerial power, positional sense etc.

 

THis is the most fickle I have ever seen Celtic fans. A couple of weeks into the season and Hinkel, Caldwell, Loovens, Fortune, Brown etc have all been asked to be dropped or sold. Need to get a grip.

 

Caldwell is having a bad run just now, every player will have one, Giving him grief isn't gonna give him the confidence to get back to his best.

Some celtic fans dont know the value of a player, it started with Mcgeady and already 2 games in to the seaon ppl have wanted to get rid of mcgeady, hinkel,brown, caldwell, mcmanus, donati, without these guys we have lost the quality in our team that we have hinkel was also great today, hope this thread gets closed, same happened with boruc last season, and now its happening to caldwell some ppl dont learn to give a guy a break every player goes through a bad patch, its up to the fans to get behind them and bring them on
He was player of the year last year and whoever says he didnt deserve it, im sure everyone who voted never got it wrong, He is a good defender i remember people saying caldwell saving us when mcmanus was playing as he was soo poor as he was playing injured

 

Still out strongest option at CB.

Having somewhat of a 'mare at the moment but has came through worse criticism to show hes an asset.

Just hope hes not finding the captaincy too much of a burden.
