I would keep him, I don't think he is an attack minded midfielder either. He's a "box-to-box" player as they say and a very good one at that, he's at our own box as much as he is the oppositions box so I think that would rule out the idea of him being an attacking midfielder like Lampard or Gerrard.

£8m isn't a lot of money and we shouldn't take that for one of our best players. I think he'd do well in England and end up worth double whatever we sold him for.

If they offered £14m you'd think we probably need to take that but he'll always be worth atleast £8m, we could sell him in 5 years and he'd still be worth atleast £8m they'd need to give us a good bit more than that.

Yes, I'd sell Brown for anything in the 8m region. Definitely. He's not consistent enough, not technically gifted enough, and despite some flashes over the last few seasons does not have the ability to create or score much. We need a playmaker in the middle of the park and Scott Brown will not fill that void. And I think n'guemo is a better choice for the defensive midfielder slot.

I will be very surprised if harry redknap made a bid for brown and if he did it would be nowhere near the £10m being quoted personally i would be happy if we got £5m for him, imo we sold graveson who ran about like a headless chicken and replaced him with brown who is exactly the same.

I would take 8 million for brown in a minute not good enough for me plenty energy but passing is awful could by a replacement that would be more efective for half the transfer fee.

Box-to-box midfielders chip in with goals and assists, Brown doesn't. It gets brought up time and again but we have still never replaced Stan Petrov. Even Craig Burley would guarentee you 1 in 3 from centre mid.

Think we should take the Ajax approach. They are a big club who know their limits. Sell and replace, sell and replace. Think this is the road we have to go down. Granted we don't produce as many quality youngsters as them but we can't afford to turn down ludicrous offers for players who aren't worth it when we could replace them and be a healthier club for it.

If we sold McDonald for say 4-5M we could get someone for 2M who would equal his production I have no doubt. Guys like * when he was available, Beckford from the lower leagues, * even Leroy Lita when he was free.

If the club decides to take the money for an asset that isn't worth a price they have been offered, then it's just good business and common sense to take it.
