Arsenal play in a better league, they can afford to pay more than us for players, on paper you'd have to say they have the better squad. But Merson won't be the first to underestimate us, I have the feeling that if he weren't such a massive cokehead, he'd have been eating a massive slice of humble pie come midweek.

I think he is trying to annoy us because they are quite worried about the tie. Although we have played in the Champs League groups for last 3 yrs we are still an unknown quantity to most teams. But mowbray watched Arsenal last season so Im sure Mowbray as a plan for the home leg and a completely different plan for the away leg.

On paper, Any English Premiership team should be too good for us; if they spent money wisely - for even the worst Premiership team has far more money to spend than we have.

But history shows that they spend money in an obscene fashion just because they can and the transfer fee doesn't always reflect the quality of the player.

No-one should underestimate Celtic. For even in our spending heydey - we still had players like Mahe, Sylla, Laursen, Agathe, Douglas etc. and we still took care of the likes of Barcelona, Liverpool and Blackburn.

If you take away the money SKY throws at Arsenal - would they be able to compete with Celtic one for one? I think not.

But let Merson have his toy anyway.

To be honest, I think Boruc is the only player in the current squad who could get a game with Arsenal. There's no way anyone from out defence or attack would feature regularly, in terms of the midfield, only Brown would stand chance. I have no doubt however that if we were in the EPL and were given time to establish ourselves, we would easily be a bigger club than Arsenal, hands down. We would have the money then to attract better players and in terms of fanbase, we are easily ten times bigger in our worldwide fan base.
