    nope, i think he should, if the manager really liked him he would play most of their games regardless of how he plays for celtic,dunne is quite a bad defender and oshea isnt great doesnt getplayed at CB at united anyway

    I think he should be playing, or atleast be in the 25 squad.

    Yeah, it's a bit of a surprise and * disapointing!
    He's defo one for the future Irish squads though...needs to try and push for more 1st team games this season..I really like the bhoy...his time will come!!

    Dunne is a rock for Ireland and O'Shea is an important player for United. If he wants to play for his country he'll need to prove himself more than the odd game here and there.

    Dunne plays alot better for Ireland than he does for ManC, and Trap likes O'Shea so maybe O'Dea just isn't in Traps mind.

    IMO Ireland can use O'Shea elsewhere as he is so versatile. Surely not both wingback positions can be much better than O'Shea out wide while O'Dea plays at CB

    St. Ledger has gotten a couple starts over O'Dea as well. St. Ledger has proven to be quite good though.

    No way should he get in the team over Dunne or O'Shea. Dunne is really underrated and written off after one bad season, and O'Shea was ain great form and has played his best games for Ireland recently. o'dea should be in the squad i think maybe even at lb over kilbane who cant get it done there.
    One reason for O'Dea's omission could be that trap doesnt rate him is based on an Ireland B squad game he played in earlier in the year verse Nottingham Forest in which he played poorly.

    That is possibly the funniest comment I think I've every read on here. The guy has been a * calamity for Ireland. He was terrible tonight - Cahill and Skippy ran rings around him.

    Utterly shambolic defender at international level. Mind you, I expect him to continue to feature as Trap's scouting system seems a bit questionable - he continues to persist with the likes of Liam Miller in the squad when guys like Keith Fahey and McCarthy deserve a go a lot more.

    he played extremely well vs. nigeria in his first match and wasnt all that bad vs. bulgaria, especially considering we were backs up against the wall all 2nd half.
