    +1

Look at it from the other side of the coin, I bet Arsenal wanted anybody but us, while we dont have all the superstars they have we are a potential banana skin for the PL big guns and we have a recent record to prove it.

2-0 at CP and try hold out at the emirates

To be honest I think most Arsenal fans would've prefered to draw us than Athletico Madrid.

ok just watching stats by sky sports and our record i think read

    22 played
    15 won
5 drawn? i think it were
    2 lost
25 scored i think it were again
    9 let in

can't remember exact stats weren't paying attention all that much still on buzz about the tie.

but arsenal away records makes for jizzing your pants

    25 played
    10 won
    7 drawn
    7 lost
    29 scored
    17 LET IN!!!!!!!!!

even before seeing that i just got an itch thats saying we can do this just like dynamo and spurs emirates will be a tall order but they are missing some key key players through either selling or injury we have none of the problems already have 5-6 weeks ahead of them which dynamo showed can be the difference if used wisely to be honest we have beaten better teams with a weaker squad in my eyes as this one is looking like a much stronger team overall regardless of individual talent that may be missing this team together looks so much stronger and together in every way which is making up for individual talent we could be missing mainly naka

    sorry my mistake

i mean in preseason prep you know oz wembley sunderland dynamo and soon man city etc...,

so far we are ahead in every way i think 1-0 at parkhead and maybe a 1-1 or 2-1 at emirates

    * this, Arsenal are not the side they were. Thay have lost a host of big name players over the last few weeks and are unable seem unwilling to spend money to bring in new players. Please remember we've come up against English PL arrogance before, Remember the men against boys remark from Blackburn and how they were soon dispatched.

Yes they have a few good players, but we can get the draw at the emirates and will give them a lesson in the Celtic way at home.

I work in London and have a few Arsenal mates and they do not look forward to facing us

At the end of the day we've got 2 wonderful occasions to look forward to, I think we all would've taken that at 10pm last Wednesday night. :50:

They are certainly not the force they were a couple of years ago, Aston Villa and Hull both turned them over at The Emirates last season.

    I cant wait!

    COME ON THE HOOPS! :shamrock:

Can we get through against the Arsenal!!!

Just a wee POST find out your opnions guys wotcha think....

Personally i think it all hinges on the scoreline at CP. Obviously
a clean sheet is required, as well as a slender lead 1-0, 2-0.
But i honestly think its a possibility!! Arsenal are a superb football team but, last season and previous seasons in the premiership they lost to stoke, bolton etc etc they dont like it up em and hopefully Mogga can get us an entertainer with a trick and some skill to unlock (a Lubo or a DiCanio would do nicely gaffer!!) defences.Arsenal have a small side in terms of height and stature, and i think we could get some success there if Fortune is up for a battle and Broony is flyin' wotchas think guys Honestly
lets leave the green specs off for this are we Champions league or Europa cup!!!

I think we can sneak it over two legs mate :50:
Get Robson back in the team to soften them up at Parkhead
and then play the way we did in Moscow, and we definitely can do it imo :36::36:

Av just been on arsenal mania and a lot of the guys on there would rather have avoided us which is a bit respectful it:50: will be a good game at least they will not sit in with 10 men behind the ball for 83 minutes like dynamo rangers a was quite happy with what i was reading although there were the odd couple of people happy to get us!!!

No matter what the outcome as long as we do our best and not get hammerd a will be happy because to be fair most of us celtic fans didnt really expect to qualify anyway>>> if its a run in the europa>>> well so be it :50: we all knew the draw could have been kinder but with our luck most of us knew it would be the gunners we would be facing

2 hard matches, but we can give any 1 a game at parkhead!!!!! so there,s always a chance:50:

I'd love it if Arsenal took up Dynamo tactics and threw 10 men behind the ball but i think this is going to have to be our game. Wenger knows how to get his team to play excellent football and i don't see a weakened side from last year just because they lost Adebayor and Toure, they still are the same quality side. I'm not saying this is the end of our champions league campaign but it's going very tough to knock out Arsenal, a I just hope we can give them a good test the way we normally do against the English. I hope Arshavin is forced to sit out for one reason or another because this guy could destroy us on his own.

The draw is as predicted! Interesting one though, really looking forward to both matches. Lets not kid ourselves they are a class team full of great attacking flair players and decent at the back too. That said they are beatable! the result at CP is of huge importance. Mowbray should show the team the gooners v's Hull & Stoke last season!!! Bring them on, can't wait for the 18th!!!

You're right. There are so many variables, and that's why footbsll is worth watching. The unexpectec can happen.

Think back to when we put Barça out the UEFA cup. The underdog can do it. It's gonna be a question of effort, organization and concentration. Maybe some luck ttoo, but who knows. We're definitely the underdogs but there is still something beautiful about believing.

I think we can do it.
