Fair does. I think he's awful as a winger, because he doesn't want to pass the ball to a teammate.

he isnt effective on the right wing, so i would put him left wing or playing just off the striker/s ,or move maloney in one just off the striker/s .

i think they would combine well, and both can make a telling pass to get in behind deffence, mcgeady better at this than crossing.

this would overload the left but would leave great space for hinkel to attack down the right

i dont think the answer is to change the formation to acomidate mcgeady if he wants to play he should learn to play as a winger or what ever postion mowbray wants him to play
if i remember correctly everyone said the same thing about ronaldo when he joined man u if he could get his head up & look for a pass & release the ball earlier rather than beat his man 4 times before passing he would be good & now look at him
Am not compairing mcgeady to ronaldo for a second all i am saying if he was able to transform his game to become the finished article he is then mcgeady needs to take a leaf out of his book & go away & work on these things

I think youve got a point here.

I thought Ronaldo was * in his first season with Man U but he worked hard on his game and look at him now.

Aiden will come good, people forget he's still basically just a kid and is still learning.

A lot of the problem with McGeady is the players around him! Whilst watching my old Celtic DVD's in the off season it was clear to see that are strikers are way off what they were under Oneil, put Henrik, sutton etc.. up front and Aiden's job would be a lot easier. This focus on Aiden is more about the lack of quality around him! He's deff still learning and Moqbray needs to work out where he should play him to get the best out of him.

In my opinion mcgeady has the ablity to be a great player but he needs to learn tht when there is two men on you means there's a man free. Just looking up and passing the ball are the things mgeady lacks, hopefully mowbary will help him with that

he may not be being intentionaly greedy but unlike most other players of his type around euroupe he plays with his head down which means he does not always see the pass.

Play him in the right position for a start.

A free role behind the striker/s.

I can see Mowbray getting more out of him than what Strachan did, by virtue of the way he likes his teams to play.

The lack of quality strikers didn't keep Maloney or Naka from contributing heavily last year. Seems like just more excuses for Aiden to me.
He's regressed and it's especially irritating. He should be the heart of this team by now. Until he decides to get his game together and contribute in a meaningful way (assists and goals), I'll keep saying he's nothing more than an over-rated dribbler.

If he was half as good as he thinks he is he would be a superstar, overated and done nothing to justify the praise he gets.

If we were to play a formation with a free role in behind the strikers then it wouldnt be McGeady id play there! Maloney would be far more effective there, he has a footballer brain and can a great shot on him!

I have said this, almost word for word, over the past 12 months but folk must look at him differently because very few folk agree.

Sorry for going off subject but do you really think Naka & Maloney "Contributed Heavily" last year? I'll grant you Mcgeady has regresed and deff can be irritating but this over rated dribbler is still one of the best creative players that we have! Under the more free flowing football of Mowbray it is now or never for Aiden to raise his game.

They contributed an awful lot more than McGeady did. Maloney is about where I'd expect... Naka is up there with the strikers (Skippy was involved every 137m.)
Involved just every 3 games !??! That's pathetic for a player of McGeady's caliber. At that rate we may as well make Hinkel a winger. He provided more assists than McGeady... from a defensive position !

    Shocking.

the facts dont lie. his performances were so poor last season. i expect he'll still get favouritism amongst some of the fans for his decision to play for ireland.

He does a nice turn or goes by a player and people applaud, except that more often than not there is * all end product. He must improve this season.
