agreed. but when you spend nearly 4m on a striker you expect goals and he had great chances to give the goals which he never took.

the problem is we have a want it now society ,fed to us by tv and media, nobody wants to waitr for anything,ie new telly no money get credit pay later .

no one saves for anything, we dont have the patience, hence the credit crunch .
so wot am saying is short term fixes are paid for later and become more painful, we have to learn to be patient again and we will reap the benefits that will come from this.
there is no point in coming on here and lambasting everyone from the players to the burger vans outside, patience, take a bit of time to cool down ,emotions are running high, chances are if you do you will see the bigger picture, and will come on here and not sound like a spoiled little bratt who didnt get their way.
if a family member does somthing wrong, you dont slate them ,you back them and support them.
celtic is more than just a club, its more than 1 game gone bad [ first competetive] and its more than small minded spoiled bratts who have no patience.

we all want the best for our team but somtimes you need to wait for that to happen, not just one game ,get real :31:

I'm pretty sure that Fortune came out and said, when he signed, thers more to his game than goals. He likes to hold up play and drift out wide.

Not good enough for me i'm afraid. 3.8 mil is not money paid to hold up the ball, you there to score goals.
I'll give him a chance but I think he seriously needs to review his aspect on a being a striker.

Well I've just watched the game there and overall we didn't do a lot wrong. But the mistakes we did make we got punished for. Hinkel was poor at their goal and Fortune missed two great chances. Samaras also missed a great chance and we had one cleared off the line. My only slight criticism is that we seemed to run out of ideas in the last 20 mins and there was no Celtic Park 'cavalry charge' at the end like there usually is.

These are the fine margins that European matches are decided on. If we can just be a bit more clinical in front of goal in the second leg it is definitely still there for us to go through. :50:

If you thought Celtic were crap on Wed night I think you need your eyes tested, or at least learn a little bit about football.

Of course we have a chance in the return leg, it's only a one goal deficit.

Why on earth would you want a second string team played in an important CL game.

Honestly, some people need to get a reality check - we didn't play too badly but due the lack of match sharpness, the fact it was the managers first game in charge and the Russians are well into their league it came a couple of weeks too soon (our own fault for losing the league last season).

How people can be so negative after 1 competitive game is really beyond me, give the manager and players a chance to settle.

Dont know what game you were watching, McGeady was non existing IMO! Had one of his worst games for Celtic, he lost the ball more often than not!

IMO they did pay well and I, like yourself, played football for nearly 20 years, so I would like to think that I can differenciate between * play and good play.

You are also correct on the "needing passion" thing but I believe that on Wed night, we will most certainly not be lacking that.

maybe trty and have a bit of belief?

To me, they made the chances, but showed the same inability to put in the final touch & the same lack of passion as last season. I've seen so many 2nd halves like this last year. I hope Fortune doesn't end up as a more expensive Kenny Miller. But it's early days (Except in the case of Lee Naylor where it's far too late) & against a team halfway through their season There will be improvement. I wouldn't mind a decent Uefa Cup run.
