divm67 is just a negative minded choob.

Always believe in the team, disagree with a few other posts in topics though Anton.

I think the fact Moscow took the early lead * there game plan, they were happy to knock it about and every time they actually broke away they looked decent on the attack.

We had our chances, and same old story, never took them. Heres hoping they can lift the bhoys for the away leg.

(I was watching from the Lisbon Lions upper for anyone who wants to know where my opinions come from)

There's far too much negativity and knee-* reacting going on here tonight. In a way it's understandable because there has been the excitement of a new manager coming in and some good pre-season results. This has led to expectations becoming quite high quite quickly. Obviously tonight has knocked those expectations and come as a bit of a blow.

However let's not blow it up to be something worse than it was. Our team has only played four friendlies while they were halfway through their season so we were always up against it on that front. Also, our team hasn't had time to properly gel as yet and only time and matches will sort that. Basically we had to hit the ground running and that is very hard to do. For any team.

Tonight's game also just went wrong in every way for us and fell right into the Russians lap. They came out with a defensive line-up and their game plan would have been to frustrate us and get a draw if they could. Then out of the blue they got an early goal. Conceding an early goal in a match like this and against opposition like Dinamo is a nightmare. It means they can sit back even more and gives them something to defend. We had to chase the game after they scored and they didn't have to try and attack at all because they had what they came for. I really believe if we had got 1 goal tonight we would have gone on and won that game. The self-belief would have started to flow through our players and our superior ability would have come to the fore. Unfortunately because we fluffed the few chances we created, the confidence sapped out of our players a little bit. Fortune'e in particular. It was just one of those nights and one of those games where it didn't happen for us.

None of this makes us suddenly a bad team. Let's all just keep a bit of perspective. Even if the worst happens and we go out of the Champions League remember that Rangers won the SPL after suffering a similar fate last year against Kaunas. And hey......who knows, we might just go and win in Moscow anyway. All this doom and gloom will look a bit silly then!

    Keep the Faith :shamrock:

I think with the right tactics and giving the strikers a kick up the * they need for the next game we could get through. We dominated much of the match tonight.Dynamo passed the ball about well but i think we played fairly well considering we were up against a team well into their season. Credit where credits due at the start they looked far more pacey than us but after a while we cranked up a gear, passed the ball about well and created plenty of chances. We're just lacking in the killer touch in the striking department at the moment but im sure thats something TM will work on. I have faith in mowbray to get the team playing well and up until now everything went to plan. One thing i couldnt work out is why we changed to 4-3-3 tonight....that gave the russians much more space. maybe its just me but i thought 4-4-2 was working fine. Also we should have expected them to come out all guns blazing then sit back a bit....thats their style of play.Im no expert on Russian football but even i could have told them that one. My MOTM has to go to N'guemo tonight. He could well be a star of the future (fingers crossed) :celt_2:

clyde says we go into the europa league if we dont beat moscow we have to play one qualifier . We seemed to play well tonight just unlucky to come up against a team that are halfway through their season who are no mugs

Keep the faith ? Come on mate were only one goal down. If we go there and score then its game on. In fact its game on right now. I would understand if we got beat 2 or 3 nil and u came out with statements such as ''keep the faith''. A mean ''keep the faith'', just a bit dramatic dont ye think so
