I Think a lot of teams in the qualifiers will be looking at us and saying, I hope we don't get them, we have done really well in the past especially at home and we've had some near misses away, Barca 0-0, milan 0-0, so I think teams outhere will be saying not celtic please. We can and have came up with some magnificient perfomances in the past and will do again.

    Keep the faith,

    hail, hail,

How about we just take one game at a time.

    Starting with Dinamo Moscow.

Dont mean to be all doom and gloom but i dont see us getting to the group stages to many big teams in our way and the team has not had time to get used to each other and the new systems TM will be using.
Now next year when we win the spl we still have to qualify for the group stages again.
To many teams in europe spending tens of millions out there and its going to be so hard for us to get to the group stages.
IMO we will be in EUFA for a good few years.

Yeah if we get to the group stages and if we get luck with the draw we can do anything but as with most other teams we need luck with the draw

Even getting to the group stages would be a massive achievement. Its just mogga first season remember, n dont think hes had any experience in europe so far in mangement, so anything would be a bonus. Out of intrest how did MON do in his first season in europe?

Bit early to be talking about European success at the moment. I would be happy with a good run in the Europa leage tbh. It jsut seems like a big ask to get into teh CL. I would love to be there but realistically it's gona be tough in the next round.(assuming we win against Dinamo, which i think we will).

Realistically, we can beat Dinamo on aggregate. But, I'm not briming with confidence ahead of Arsenal/Lyon/Sporting etc. clash... Nevermind, let's hope for the best.

I fear we wont get into the group stages!! But if we did, then as they say the world would really be at our feet, if TM can get us there, meaning beating Dynamo and another teams on the par of Arsenal then we'd be doing pretty * well IMO. Keep the faith :celt_2:

its going to be hard and thats a fact!

we have dynamo moscow 1st up and we might not beat them? and if we do then we will have an harder tie in the 3rd qualifying round aswell! if we sort this terrible away record then we can do it as our home record is one of the best if not the best in europe.

Would be a financial disaster if we don't make the group stages

The way Mogga plays the game and the type of players he's trying to bring in I'd be very hopeful.

I'd like to see us have a go at someone away from home, all this 'sitting in' / one up front stuff has never paid off so we might as well just get at someone. Mogga might just be the man for the job. :50:

We have lost timidly away from home to a lot of very average teams IMO, which has always frustrated me.

Cant see us getting there though, Id be happy just to get through the dynamo game tbh, at least we know we get some kind of euro football that way.

Thats not being defeatist I dont think, just realistic.

I think celtic can & will reach the champions league group stages. If we avoid arsenal.
    .
1st of all, we'll beat this russian mob with room to spare.
In the next qualifying round, every one of those teams will be * it to be drawn against celtic, simply because it's almost a cert that the tie will be decided on goal difference, or even away goals. Home team is likely to win in both legs. None of them will want that.
Make no mistake that celtic are well respected, or even feared in europe by the bigger teams.
    .
When we get to the group stages, things are a bit different.....The smaller pot 4 teams actually want to be drawn against celtic, because they see it as a very good chance to get 3 points in their home game with us.
    .
How will we do in the group stages?
Qualify 2nd. Last 16 out on goal difference.
