It doesn't affect me much, I don't tend to buy Strips anymore, I buy polo shirts and the like.

I can see why folk are getting upset though, imagine having 2 or 3 kids, who all want the new strip every time one is released, it's a * load of money to fork out and no-one likes to tell their kids that they can't afford something like that.

Its common practice to be honest, so I think the thread title is maybe just a tiny wee bit OTT? :97:

It is nonsense to suggest Celtic have little or nothing to do with selling our own kits. The only thing Nike is responsible for is designing and making them. Celtic control the price, we control the release date and we decide how long they're kept for.

It DID specifically say in the kit's description this was supposed to be the away kit from 2009 - 2011. It said it from the moment the kit appeared on the Celtic website up until a day or two ago. But evidently, someone at Celtic changed their mind...

Monny, kit manufacturers often control the price of their kits, not the club. I.E. why umbro kits are always 10 dollars more than nike kits of the same yr here in the states, kinda y im glad celtic got off of umbro lol.

I just cannot understand where some people get so bent out of shape with the constant new strips being issued year after year. Yes they are expensive. Yes it is nice to have the clubs latest jersey. But nobody is forced to buy any top. If it's too much or you think that it is wrong to realise new tops every season then don't buy a new one every season.
Facts are Celtic especially have to find extra commercial ways to maximise income and if coming out with new away tops in particular every year and "international" tops can help us revenue wise then I think the club are doing the right thing.

For me personally. Given I live now in Chicago I no longer get to go to Celtic games and spend money that way so buying tops is one of the ways I feel like I can contribute each year plus I flat out love the many Celtic tops I have.
