    It appears to be a Lawwell trait this trial carry on. You can see why he does it but in this day and age it makes Celtic look slightly less professional than other people. If it was the done thing it wouldn't be too bad and maybe it should be more widely used, gives you a chance to see the player and how he fits into the squad.

    To be honest, I like the fact that he's baulking at going on trial. Its the kind of 'In yer face' attitude that was lacking from a team that let slip a 7 point lead.

    He's got baws.

    Its not the point though, these guys see at as a bit of an insult, as if we're saying 'we really dont have a scooby who you are so come and prove your good enough'.

    Like I said earlier, its 2009, we should know enough about the guy, trials should be for tinpot clubs that cant afford expensive scouting systems and journeyman players that need to get fixed up - not Celtic.

    Lawell is quick to prance and preen about how great our scouting system is so if its that good, we shouldn't need to have players on trial.

    Players that are worth their salt generally will tell you to stick it.
