So, he didn't go to Liverpool out of respect to Man United, now he's off to Man City?

What a whining chancer. Hope he fails miserably.

If he goes to Liverpool he wont get a start every week, if he goes to chelsea he wont get a start every week so why not City?? All be it he will get a very good wage at city but all he wants to do is play every week and he will get that at City!

I hope he does well, the guys gives everything hes got every single game so cant exactly call him a whining chancer!

Has anyone else noticed that he seems to have been attacked by a vampire?

Is that Joorabchian's fang marks in his neck?

MANCHESTER CITY'S summer spending could reach a jaw-dropping £300million by the time they return from South Africa next weekend.

The moneybags men from Eastlands yesterday launched a stunning £25m move to sign Emmanuel Adebayor from Arsenal.

The Togo international can expect a five-year deal worth around £130,000 a week if he signs on the dotted line for Mark Hughes.

That makes the whole deal worth nearly £60m but that could look peanuts if their moves to sign England captain John Terry succeed.

City are still hopeful they can persuade 'Mr Chelsea' to quit Stamford Bridge over the next couple of weeks.

They are willing to offer the Blues around £40m for the centre-back, who is certain to fancy the £250,000 a week he could earn by moving to City.

Only this month, billionaire owner Sheikh Mansour promised "a patient and pragmatic approach" to guiding the club to the top. Yet since taking charge of the club last September, they have taken everyone's breath away in the transfer market.

Big-money new recruits Carlos Tevez, Roque Santa Cruz and Gareth Barry are all set to make their debuts for their new club in the Vodacom challenge.

After missing out on Samuel Eto'o in a long drawn out saga, Sparky will hope a deal for Adebayor proves far less problematic.

Former United favourite will prove the gap between the two Manchester clubs is closing by sealing his switch to City today.

An initial £25.5m will go to Kia Joorabchian and the group who own the Argentinian striker. They hammered out an agreement in principle which will see the former West Ham man pick up £31m over the next five years.

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez was critical of Barry last week, for only being interested in "money, money, money" rather than success.

But can the £12m England midfielder be blamed for being keen on a wage packet of around £90,000 a week?

Sparky finally ended his chase for a target man by raiding old club Blackburn for Roque Santa Cruz in a deal that could rise to £18m.

The Paraguayan doubled his salary by accepting an £80,000-a-week deal.

All this on top of the British record £32.5m splashed out last season on Robinho plus £70m on nine other top players.

i do agree with you. I meaning the measures man city are taking to get that success and yes they are just going for the money but how else are city going to attract top players. certainly not by showing them the trophy room.

exactly! the same goes for chelsea? both clubs have done hee haw and all a sudden 2 guys worth a fortune have came in ,bought them and throwing crazy money about to get these player! and this is how to me the english are going way ott with giving players this kind of money and is going to end up killing the game.

i dont mind city! but the money they are throwing about is shocking! but they will have to sign good players 1st to challenge in the epl,and trophies ! and when this happens then they can do it the right way and get the classier player in! but this moment in time its all about the money ? thats why tevez is there? no dought about that ,like i said to me he shows no ambition to better himself and to be a sucsessful winner.
